I'm sorry, in what universe is this acceptable?

So I had an appointment scheduled for somebody to come out and fix our dishwasher. It has been completely non-functional for about the last two months. The appointment was for today, somewhere between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. parts arrived yesterday that may or may not be needed in repair of the dishwasher. Got a text this morning at 9:30 telling me they are still on their way.

Then, just about 3 minutes later, I got another text saying I've been rescheduled for the 9th of fuсking November, and to follow the link for more details. Damn right I wanted more details. Turns out, clicking for more details didn't we know good, other than to confirm the day and time, and to remind me that if I try to cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, there will be consequences.

Where's the consequences for them pulling this ѕhit?

I know man, finding people to do things is very hard! I don't think there are enough people in these professions. I had an electricity problem and the repair guy didn't even call me back.

@JimboSaturn I definitely get the impression there aren't enough young people interested in service and repair jobs.

@LordShadowfire Yes they can pick and choose the jobs they want to do.

In the capitalist system that just means that no one is willing to pay enough.
@LordShadowfire and service providers like to keep things lean. Companies I've worked for throughout my life put a premium on keeping operating costs low while taking on more work than they can handle.
