Anyone except British people do you feel the urge to pronounce the word "community" with a British accent? Like with the "t" silent ish "communi'y"

In Ricky Gervais's voice 🎤

We speak as we are brought up to speak. I am British but not English. I grew up speaking Welsh. The Welsh of my valley. People know where I come from when I speak. May we not celebrate the variety of accents in quite small places. And people from very far away may think they are hearing a British accent because their ears are not used to the variety of accents we have.
Just as Canadian visitors to the UK always wear Canadian flags because they know as soon as they speak we will know they're American!

@Blodyn You're a precious Angel and a great asset to the human race. The Lord bless you and keep you and your loved ones safe in the Arms of God.

@luv2fly352 Thank you. That was a lovely message. May the Lord keep you safe too.

@Blodyn I sincerely wish that we here in America could import people such as yourself.
I like the way Arabs pronounce the p in words with b

Hosbital
Rabunzel
Bussy
@HijabaDabbaDoo It's a huge struggle OMG 😅
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether tbh I only noticed it was a thing when Mena Massoud couldn't say Rapunzel in an interview and Naomi Scott mocked him with an Indian accent

@HijabaDabbaDoo This is hilarious 😅 even mom who's an English teacher still struggles with it sometimes.

How many more times do we need to explain that there is no such thing as a British accent? We have dozens, perhaps even hundreds of accents.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether It was the implication that there was a single accent that deserved the name British. I don't expect anyone, whether British r not, to know the names of all the accents, I certainly don't. I was simply arguing that anyone who says that something si said in British accent presumably has a particular one in mind and people who speak with a different one might wonder why that one is accorded special status.
@ninalanyon This is my reference if you want to check it out. Just watch 10 seconds

@ninalanyon American Georgia man accent is really hot. The nasally A's of the Cleveland accent is kinda annoying.

Not sure what you are talking about. There is no such thing as a British accent. But in all the different British accents I know, the t in community is not silent.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether But a joke I don’t understand.
@MartinII That's your problem.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Not entirely. What’s the point in telling a joke if your audience doesn’t understand it?

com-mun-idy

I’ve never heard it said with a silent “t.” That way sounds ridiculous.

That pronunciation would've started in Britain, it would be a London accent which has spread to Essex.
pride49 · 31-35, M
I woul love to hear a British person say harry had a hatchet
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
My t is a little silent. Almost a d sound
Now that’s summin innit
DDonde · 31-35, M
I started saying community out loud to myself and I think I almost always say a soft 'd' sound instead of a 't'. Unless I'm trying to be very deliberate.
