Wonderful girl and troubled boy grew to be friends and fell in love. She changed his mind, gave him reason to believe in himself. He believed in her, believed in them.

When she threw him out of her life, something broke. He has never completely healed.

He still loves her. Some things just never go away.

The relationship itself was cliché I think. Passionate artist pining for connection meets passionate, but aloof, emotionally unavailable musician. I had an abusive boyfriend at the time, but I was very young, he was my first boyfriend, and I was scared to leave him. I didn’t leave my boyfriend ‘for Jay’, but that new, happier, not-abusive dynamic did give me the courage to kick the abuser out and find my own footing in the world. As for Jay, from the moment we started talking I was so madly drawn to him that it was compelling. From an outside perspective, I was an idiot chasing around a player, but something intuitively knew that wasn’t the way of it. Just because he wasn’t a player though doesn’t mean what we had going on was healthy by any stretch of the imagination. We would spend some time together, he’d feel triggered by the intimacy then disappear for a month or three months then reappear and I’d drop everything to spend even a little time with him again. This went on for years. It seems like every time we reconnected he would get sexier. 🤣 First he was a drummer, then he got really good on the guitar, then he got the hang of the piano, then he became the lead singer in a band that was working on a contract. Later he turned out to be an amazing father and solid husband then he got a bachelors in philosophy. That’s the thing of it. Jay and I didn’t work out for a lot of logistical and Life phase reasons, but we still catch up every few years. It’s always like no time has passed. I think it’s funny that almost 20 years later it’s confirmed somehow my younger self was right about him, Who I thought he was and how he would turn out to be and that I wasn’t delusional even though it definitely looked like it at the time 🤣

Neiman. Mom took me to meet him when I was young. he served me the most delightful lunch, gave me a massage and skin care and carried our packages out to the car when we were done. I'll always be in love with him

A Russian ex, it didn't have a happy ending but had some nice moments at least.

I loved a boy in highschool. I’d say he was my first love. We met in drivers Ed class. It was off and on for a year or so. He doesn’t know it, but we actually live fairly close to each other now. I checked him out on Facebook and he looks like Charles Manson now

I’m sitting in this comfy leather chair when she entered the room for orientation. He long platinum blonde hair flowing over the shoulders of her black leather jacket. She glanced at me and I smiled back into her gorgeous green eyes. She sat a across in the matching love seat. Her petite figure and her stylishly torn tight fitting denims were so distracting. I had to meet this angel of the universe. We struck up a brief conversation, but it wasn’t until our second encounter that we started to converse.

A weekend retreat brought us closer, the late dance, the last song…I finally asked her and she accepted. Our first was a slow beautiful acoustic melody. We had a connection.

Our first date was spent over consuming coffee at a 24 hour coffee bar. We spent 8 hours chatting about life, past misfortunes, and us. By the end of the night our hands clasped across the table and our eyes bound to each other’s. She was my first love.

I was "in like" with several girls before I was 15, but the one I first loved was the one who became my wife. We met when I was 15 and she was 14, started dating when both of us were 15, and married when we were 22. She dated lots of guys in college, but never let them come between us. I only dated her, except for a few movies with friends from high school. I can't define the moment it became true love, but it was early in our relationship.

His name was Tim. He was two years older than me. We went to different HS. Started dating him when I was 16. We moved in together when I was eighteen. Broke up when I was 19 but took me like 10 years no joke to get over it. I thought he was going to be the man I was going to marry. We had an on and off thing for a few years until I started dating my ex-husband. I loved him very much but he was bad news and as far as I hear he still is.

It was unrequited and totally miserable. 😬

My college mate, who is now a proud and arrogant professor in a renowned college. Karma - after he dumped me, he has had two more love failures!!
