Last night, I heard another politician saying "We have shots for polio...for measles...and tubellla. We all take these and have nothing to fear from these."

Oh, no? I took shots as a kid and got measles anyway at five, and rubella at ten. Polio is still out there. It was a requirement when I went to school. I hated sbots then, and I detest them now. I stay home and inside and get necessary deliveries.

Hopefully, no dying from covid related diseases. I’m 31 and I got it as soon as I could - back in April I think. Everyone that I know and socialize with has been vaccinated, along with several billion others. I am happy with my choice and I sincerely hope that it is your choice too.
dark548 · M
@Jill1990 oh ok i see, thanks
dark548 · M
@Jill1990 why did you chose Pfizer and not moderna?
Jill1990 · 31-35, F
@dark548 I went to toe first appointment I could get. I would have taken either one
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Like 30% of the world's population has had a covid jab. I think Canada is the most vaccinated country, we aren't beholden to American pharmaceutical corporations, and do our own research.

If the vaccines were dangerous every person who works with vaccinations for a living on the planet would have to be in a secret conspiracy. This includes people in my union who have legally protected rights (negotiated by me) to conduct research without government or corporate interference.

Or in short, there's a lot of fearmongering going on and this has got caught up in culture war bullshit. They're fine.
dark548 · M
@CountScrofula thanks i could use more info like this to help me think clearly
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@dark548 There's so much shit going around. Like, there are potential serious side effects, but as far as I can tell they are quite rare. Importantly, covid is worse.

Seat belts can actually strangle you or cause serious damage in an accident if worn wrong and many people do. But they're still safer than being in a car accident without one. Same deal.
@CountScrofula I have to know what happened to me first. And the system doesn't want me to know. So I might have it FORCED on me so I can qualify for more surgery etc...

Hard to imagine how this can go wrong though. Hard to imagine how I almost DIED from a GI mysatery virus after I had orthopedic surgery in early 2020

I was dosed while in the hospital 4 a joint proccedure and when I called back 10 days later for more med help they called the POLICE on me

But I have a feeling if I go for the shot now NO ONE WILL STOP ME

Of course I am immune cause I recovered.
carpediem · 61-69, M
I got it. If my wife gets covid, she'll die. So we both got the jab. Not everyone has the same risk factors. Zero side effects by the way for either of us. So far anyway.
Elessar · 26-30, M
I also don't want anything weird happening this month
Well, you're up to the risk of catching delta; I'd say contracting cv-19 qualifies as weird things you wouldn't want to experience this month.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@dark548 you're succumbing to logic and reason. There's no shame in that.
dark548 · M
@basilfawlty89 i know but I have all these irrational thoughts i need to work through.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@dark548 Vaccines have been rolling since Q1/2021, if you didn't manage to convince yourself in all this time I doubt a single month will. Just make sure not to have regrets with your choice, there is at least a new case everyday who, once hospitalized, begs the HCW to administer them the vaccine (which is refused since absolutely useless at that point).
curiosi · 61-69, F
Once you take it there is no going back. I'm not going there as I don't trust it.
curiosi · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti Just read this morning where a doctor says it accelerates aging.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@curiosi quick death. Meets Agenda 2030 goals then.
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
@cherokeepatti There was a COVID19 story in yesterday's news. There is a lady in Utah who has five children whose father is suffering from the disease. He was in thd hospital at one point where the man in the next room was in "a bad way". When they brought Daddy home, they didn't take shots, just kept them away from each other. All the kids came down with COVID19, one after the other.
Ingwe · F
someone just said to me at least those "aborted baby" "cells" were used to save lives , so the death was not for naught
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@Ingwe Yeah just for clarity the fetal lining tissue is grown and doesn't come from actual aborted babies haha. It sounds like it does but yeah scientists need to sleep at night too.
Ingwe · F
@Ryannnnnn really?
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@Ingwe Yup!
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
Nothing to worry about! I got mine already, and the mind control chip is…
*processing*
…wonderful!
dark548 · M
@Zaphod42 go on...see i need to hear stuff like this more to combat these beliefs.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@dark548 Ok, then there’s the fact that RNA vaccines have been in research and development for the last 50 years, so we were already well aware of how to use them to make vaccines when the pandemic hit. This was not some flash in the pan unproven technology. We are not Guinea pigs, this is not a Tuskegee experiment. Billions have taken the shot now, and 99.999% have had no lasting adverse effects. Many even say the ‘brain fog’ left behind from getting the virus was cleared up by getting the shot.
dark548 · M
@Zaphod42 i see thanks
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
Has anyone here already has the virus and did it affect your decision to have the vaccine or avoid it?
1354swrdt · 70-79, M
People in my family had the virus. Very bad. Advise anyone to get vaccinated. @carolinehugz
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
@carolinehugz I had it last year. Trust me, a tiny jab in the arm is WAY better than feeling like you’ve just been in a car wreck for a few weeks.
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@Zaphod42 umm. I'm sure it went through our workplace way back last year and it wasn't too bad for me, I have had one jab and really suffered bad side effects and even still I have issues so hence my question 😔
graphite · 61-69, M
I had the vaccine in April and May. Still here. Just some chills and a fever for a few hours after the second shot. I even slept for 6 straight hours (which I never do).

Nothing weird happening? Like COVID?
dark548 · M
@1354swrdt I just don't know how I'm going to feel emotionally after I get it. I don't want no new weird feelings, especially not this month.
1354swrdt · 70-79, M
@dark548 You feel a bit poorly afterwards but nothing emotionally happens
dark548 · M
@1354swrdt for you perhaps nothing emotional happened but for me i feel it will.
cycleman · 61-69, M
the bs people can say without any merit but they look up to Trump. Go figure what sanity truly is!
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
Fair enough. I felt a bit feverish and tired the day after but I was fine the next day.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Hope you make it until September. 🤞
dark548 · M
@Harriet03 i mean I'm staying as safe as possible.
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
It’s not weird to feel apprehensive about the vaccine. We’ve never seen one created at a speed like this. It’s only natural people could be hesitant or worried about if it’s safe. I know majority likes to think those with a concern have no care for others or that they’re simply stupid it’s far easier to shame when that’s the belief. I know especially for myself my fear has been potential side effects that wouldn’t be seen the first year but years later. My husband & I are young & I’m pregnant we hope to have another one day too. I made the choice to wait until after my son is born to get the vaccine done. I’ve talked with both my own obgyn & my boss who’s a doctor. My husband is getting the vaccine today. I hope getting the shot will bring you relief of some kind for your health & others. But please don’t feel like the odd one out for thinking about it. Many really do but it’s uncomfortable to be honest about when so many want to shout. Let’s all hope we can trust in the safety of this & our world can be healthy & safe. That’s something everyone wants 🌻
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I wasn't going to go into the gory details of my recent menstrual problems but I'm not menopausal yet and it's been crazy for me. My daughter's have seen what happened to me and have been scared off and I wouldn't recommend it to them but they've already decided I think anyway.
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
@carolinehugz I’m so sorry to hear that. Yes it’s been an unfortunate side effect for some women. It’s definitely something that must be considered when the choice is made. I hope these changes will not be forever for you 🐞
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I have my kids so not worried about that, but do worry that my daughter's haven't and given their age anyway they would be better off avoiding it even though the government is threatening them. Not good times right now for their age group at all😕
I’m pro life so I’m vaccinated
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Talk to a medical progressional about this. All these people saying it’s being used for a method of control is trying to control you.

If you have reservations then talk to your doctor.
