A neighbor of mine gave me this advice and I was wondering what others thought about it?

That's an interesting concept to consider, and I think it could be true. In the past, I've received gifts from people I've disliked (I don't really dislike many people though haha), but I donated or regifted them as quickly as possible. However, two years ago, I kept several birthday presents from a nasty friend. I remember that their presence evoked strong, negative feelings within me, bringing back bad memories every time I glanced at them. I ended up hiding them away, and I have no idea where they have gone now. She also presented me with a chocolate bar, but I kept wondering if she had poisoned it, so I ended up throwing it in the trash.

Just in some cases

If there is negative energy in our words and actions, then objects could also carry them. In buildings thought to be haunted, there appeared to be negative energy there, despite being closed to the public for years. So it's definitely something to ponder.

She is completely right. Stay beside that neighbor. She wishes you good. I wish I had friend like her.

I disagree. Maybe one needs to review why (and should you) dislike that person.
