I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope you get the help you need. It would be great if you could find another person who has it and talk to them. They could relate.

Find a therapist who specializes in it. There are ways to manage it. I did and it was like a weight taken off of me.

You know taking care of someone is a good way to keep you thinking from killing yourself. Imagine how he'd feel. He'd feel like he failed you, which you know isn't the case.

i know he would feel devastated, and sad and i cant allow him do to it, i love him to much to hurt him

How did you get PTSD Dan? Point is---you just talk about it.
anythingoes477 · M
@GothicDan It "IS" that simple. You were powerless to do ANYTHING in either case---but you have laid a guilt trip on yourself. Tht "I wish it was me instead of them" is what soldiers feel..........or a cop after a shootout--but the stark reality is--it's not YOUR call who lives or dies. That is in a master plan that you didn't design--and it's not up to you then to change the outcome of it.
GothicDan · 31-35, M
i wish i died the same day, i have been close to suicide 14 times

@GothicDan You should find professional counselling.........but when you do they'll tell you what I am. No matter what you THINK you could have done....it was not in your realm to do it--to change destiny. Blaming yourself is perhaps understandable...but it's not rational. You need to find out what's at the bottom of that pit and that ain't gonna happen on SW. I have a degree in Behavioral Psychology, but still..............it ain't happening here.

there are groups online... the ones you sign up for and also have meetup or an organization (you can visit... and has professionals.) is a good start.
talking with others in an environment that's relaxed, controlled and intellectual is a real good way to understand that you ain't the only fucked up one and it helps others.
shit some even have events you can attend.
so on... research online.. here's not a good place.... well, most social sites like this aren't.
(sorry)
do you have a general practitioner?
?
that's another option to take.
city hall in your location may have options... ask!

Start by explaining what you are feeling. Next, tell when it started and why you think it did. Finally, talk about how it is affecting you and what kind of help (if any) you would like.
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
you don't get PTSD, everyone has it... it's how and what TURNS IT ON!
:/
:/
anythingoes477 · M
@sighmeupforthat You're thinking of cancer. PTSD is a trauma induced mental disorder.
