If the depression is deep and has gone on for a while, see a doctor or psychologist.

For milder depression, I use holy basil capsules. Exercise in the fresh air helps, too.

@greenmountaingal I will have to try that. Can't hurt.

It took about 2-3 weeks to become noticeable for me.

Just get out the house, for whatever reason. Find an excuse everyday even if some days it is just 10 minutes.
Find something you know you used to enjoy and get back into it, like movies or crafts or reading or whatever.
Write your thoughts in a journal, get them out of you head.
If you feel something has triggered the depression then work towards addressing that.
Talk to someone, even if you can't talk about how you feel, just talk.

@mangomonkey I can't talk to people. My mom said I'm not allowed to have friends.

If I were your age:
Avoid social media, all of it
Connect with people in real life and do activities
Take time everyday to think about the good things in your life, acknowledge the bad, accept them and focus on the good

I did it through aerobic exercise but it was difficult to start with because depression just wants to keep you inside and not moving, so you have to fight it. Start small like walking and build up to something you can deal with like running or swimming etc and you will notice results very quickly. Also try and walk somewhere fun and relaxing like a park. Walking through busy city streets will probably be counter productive. Ultimately you need to deal with what's behind the depression. I haven't so I'm running about 10km a day lol
antisocialbutterfly · 26-30, F
@SW-User I'll try
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Start by going for a walk every day. 5 miles 8 kms minimum.

That won't cure it but it will help a bit.

No clue... I've been severely depressed for 9 years now... I can help you with some advice though.. Break your internet/cellphone addiction and you'll be happier..

🤷 That's been proven by scientific studies at least on people living more fulfilled lives without it..

@SerenitiesScars ok thank you

find someone who you can talk to and have fun with, exercise like jogging. taking things like turmeric cucumin. can help as some depression is caused from inflammation in the brain.
antisocialbutterfly · 26-30, F
@SW-User ok. Thank you

antisocialbutterfly · 26-30, F
@SW-User thank toy
greenmountaingal · 80-89, F
@antisocialbutterfly Maybe it is not depression but a reaction to being bullied. Maybe you can figure out a way to live on your own soon.
antisocialbutterfly · 26-30, F
