Do you post here to promote conversation, or just comment on others’ postings?

I post to suit myself and if the humor or content I post sparks a conversation then great. I also reply in the same manner to other people's post.

I have odd thoughts and a vicious text voice that I share via post in hopes of swapin' a smile...and a few words.

Comment on others to offer an alternative in light of adversity or agreement when we share the tracks of our train of thought.

Or when my inner child simply can't zip it.

Actually reply to other posts far far more than post. I post maybe once a week. I'm not here for the attention. Which is why I hardly post.

Surprised you are calling the posters the conversationalists. They rarely talk on their own posts. 🤣
They are too busy posting or doing something else. They are mostly attention seekers

I rarely post, but I often comment on the posts of others.

I do a lot more of the first but I respond to posts here and there too.

I join in if I feel like what I have to say is relevant to to topic

The algorithm dictates what we can see. Sometimes I look down my forums and comment there.

My posts reflect life as I see it.

Some people don’t like you reading their back posts. I generally ask them.

And then of course there are the fantasisers, who trap your time and emotions.

There’s a third category too - those that post for affirmation. Some OPs have no intent of allowing thoughts contrary to their own, what you correctly called promoting conversation.

Their approach is simple. Agree with me or I’ll block you rather than be “forced” to think.

I’m absolutely horrible at posting. I prefer to reply to those kind enough to post. You create the action. I’ll add to the fodder.

We all have our roles.

I'm a private person for the most part. I don't post for comments or conversation. I post for my own self satisfaction.

I post about my work which has a large following. I also cmment on posts if I find them interesting.

I think it's an even kilter for me. It depends on my mood and those change quite frequently lol

I try to give actual advice and genuine opinion nowadays and post about life philosophy

I like conversation and friendly banter. It fills a void.

Depends on the subject.

I do both.

I join in when I feel like I have something to contribute and when it’s comfortable for me. Luckily, there is no real protocol, and after 9 years I have many posts and people with whom I converse on a regular basis.
