We've recently made progress in implementation and testing of the SW Monetization Program, which we first made mention of, back in October 2022:

Three key components we are exploring at this time for SW Monetization, are:
● Ads Revenue Share Earn 90% of All Ad Revenue generated from Ads shown on your Content & Profile.
● User Referral Revenue Earn 5% of All Ad Revenue generated from Ads shown on the Content & Profiles of All "Valid Invitees" you bring to SimilarWorlds.
● Premium Content Revenue Profit from Premium (Subscriber-only) Content you produce on SimilarWorlds. Content such as: Topics you have expert experience or knowledge in, or any other legitimate content you can monetize on SimilarWorlds.

Here are some preliminary Data / Results (anonymized), from our recent tests. (Based on 2000+ Qualifying, Registered Users, who have been active on SimilarWorlds over the past week.)

We are still fine-tuning many aspects of this monetization program. We wanted to let our users know that so far, things are looking "Good", 👌👍 and it seems possible for the while, for us to progress forward with implementing this idea.
User Referral Revenue 👫👬👭🧑🤝🧑
Earn 5% of All Ad Revenue generated from Ads shown on the Content & Profiles of All "Valid Invitees" you brought to SimilarWorlds.
For example: If you invited "200 users" to SimilarWorlds, and then, each of those 200 users eventually earned a combined average of "$100/month" in Ad Revenue;
You would then in-turn be paid "$1000 USD per month" by SimilarWorlds, simply off of "Referral Revenue", only.
(Not counting whatever you may also earn directly (90%) from your own content.)

We are considering tapering off this "5%" amount, over the course of 5-10 years (-0.5% or -1% per year), which will be Donated to Charities (of which users can vote on), instead of being funneled back into the SimilarWorlds' hands.
Part of the reason for this, is to avoid incentivizing a "Pyramid Scheme" type of mentality, where some users are mostly aiming to blast out spammy invites to as many as they can, early, with the aim of sitting on non-ending recurring income for 10-20+ years, while their Invitees do all the work of generating good content for the platform.

Profit from Premium (Subscriber-only) Content you produce on SimilarWorlds.
Content such as: Topics you have expert experience or knowledge in, or any other legitimate content you can monetize on SimilarWorlds.
We will likely Not allow very Explicit Content, as we already don't allow to be posted publicly on this platform, and of course, no Illegal or other types of Extreme content.
We have some good ideas already being discussed, as to how this can be best done. We will share more about these ideas, in the near future.
Note: We may also later consider a Service / Freelance Marketplace.
We've seen many users post amazing artwork and designs on SimilarWorlds, for example, as well as many other monetizable skills and services, which other fellow SW users may be happy to pay for.
We won't make such features the core of our platform, however, they could be useful additions, to aid users in supporting themselves financially, as well as providing means for users to support each other.

Users lost in self-pity lashing out every single day, Other people simply attempting to make their way, from the straight to the trans to the gay, with the VIP's having to pay,
Topics include fetishes most people can't believe, Truth and facts demanding a reprieve, many people who are upset and just here to grieve, many others who threaten to leave,
Freedom of speech often censored to a degree, A block button is not enough for people who vehemently disagree, most on a time spending spree,
The down vote being used to show one does not jive, With the original poster who is just looking to survive, many just hoping to stay alive, people wishing EP would revive,
Women bombarded with messages from men who just want to talk about sex, Frustrated people who can't get over their EX, basically a place to text,
Oh and the music and the songs played on youtube, Making people happy or sad or just wanting to groove,
Political posts abusing Biden and Trump, And the diaper fetish guys/gals talking about taking a dump,
The questions and topics can vary, From serious to funny to weary to scary,
It all boils down to cliques, hearts, selfies and the current "news" of the day, The oblivious ones always having more to say, just like toddlers at play, most posts end up being cloudy and gray,
People in the Cheers bar looking to escape reality, Don't expect this place to exhibit any normality,
Just spend time with the SW crowd and sit down and have a cup of coffee or tea, I'm sure everybody here will politely chat and just agree to disagree.......

I'm not entirely convinced about how this "Premium content" would work so good within the confines of SW, though???
I mean, I write a blog and maintain an Instagram account about coin collecting.
My interpretation of SW rules as they currently stand is that I can't advertise either openly in any threads because of the "No advertising" rules... which I understand the reasons behind having seen some of the trash promoted around here.
Would it be worth my while to continue to post to my blog, where I can spend weeks and months getting the perfect post written and do without the promotion here on SW - or do I spend weeks and months creating the perfect post in Word only to get TLDR responses???
As things stand right now, the bulk of my content goes on my blog because not only do I not make enough income to actually get a payment - but I have the ability to spend a longer time in the writing process than SW offers to me in its current format.
My question is:- Would this monetization create any changes to the rules in order to allow members who create non-adult content to post links and create posts containing a summary of whatever topic they would be talking about on their own blogs???
@sodaa they're adding features to make this site more like YouTube where your posts could earn you some change based on how many people click or interact with your post
Long story short, they make money off of adds. Clicking on an SW post will show an advertisement somewhere on the page (unless ya have VIP and blocked it)
Advertisement companies pay some amount for their add appearing on someone's screen. So SW wants to incentivize people to post more do that more ads show up.
- This gives SW more advertisements displayed, making them some more money - You get more money based on how many clicks you generate
@Andrew how does it work for the catfish accounts here that steal pictures? Are they allowed to monetize that content to make money off of stolen content from Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, Porn based websites.
This happens so much here so I am wondering how you’re going to manage this?
@iamonfire696 I cannot even get my head around that. Most anyone has offered me on here is VIP and that is usually the simps who offer to anyone with an "F" by their name.
