That's a nice start! Single player games give us something to do when the feed doesn't show any new posts, and the leader boards allow us to challenge friends to get a higher score, but I was hoping for new ways to actually spend time with others while doing something together. I'm looking forward to the multiplayer versions. Hopefully there will also be less time-sensitive games, or more turn based games, that allow us to chat while playing against each other.
100's of versions of Mahjong exist for every modern console. That's an essential game.
What I really miss, and would be easy to integrate, are classic games.
Cribbage & backgammon mostly.
Chess would be another necessity.
I don't think these games look challenging or engaging enough to garner interest from anything more than the casual gamer. But I like this introduction, I hope to see it improve.
@FableDNK a lot has changed for me over the last six months. Yet I mostly keep that private. I do have a private post on this somewhere. You should be able to see it now.
We can look into having a Tetris-type game added as well. We'll likely produce a new Voting Poll soon (after the initial release), so that users can vote on their priority preference of new games they would like to see added.
We'll likely create another post around the time of release, to explain how SW Coins will relate to the games.
In General:
1) You'll earn more SW Coins, the more you play SW Games.
2) You can use your accumulated SW Coins, to purchase In-Game Power-Ups, and other Enhancements. (or use them for the Gift Shop, and eventually Avatars)
Thank you SW team. We know you get discouraged by all the complaints. The truth is that regardless of all the complaints this is a worthwhile site and offers things we cannot get elsewhere. These games will be a fun addition and they are appreciated.
@Andrew, thank you for reminding us. You seem to realize that we as users forget what the team behind any group like SW does. I certainly hope the job and the community here are worth it. I look forward to the results of your work.
I tried the Similar Matches game. The first game was fine, the second game, I couldn't move any pieces... reloading the game didn't fix my problem either.
It's an uncommon bug, we are aware of, and we'll do our best to find a solution to this, soon.
In the interim, please "Reload the entire Page", in order to stop the problem from continuing.
I believe this bug may be occurring at times when swiping very rapidly (while the blocks are still actively matching and calibrating).
We have also created a new Group, where you can directly post about Bugs you experience while playing SW Games: https://similarworlds.com/games-puzzles/sw-games/bugs
@Andrew Thank you, Andrew. I didn't really want to say anything because I'm aware that there will be bugs and glitches, but I thought that it could be a bug that you're not aware of.
I believe that you are correct in that the error was created by my trying to match too quickly while the game was calibrating.
Thank you for directing me to the new group... I wasn't too sure where to post my feedback - so I came back here again.
Thank you, Andrew for burning the midnight oil again. Not being an enthusiastic gamer myself, your most recent work is not for me, but I'd like to say that I deeply appreciate your efforts to make this site so enjoyable. 🌷 <== appreciation tulip for you guys
"Busy at this 16 hrs a day.. 7 days a week.. for the past month!"
So you basically just admitted to overworking your employees, just like the rest of the game development world. Did they receive any additional compensation for all that overtime? No? How typical
@CBarson Try Googling "slander" while you have Google open.
Just because it happens, it doesn't mean that it's happening here... and, assuming that you are not privy to information that's not common knowledge to the rest of us - I'd be very careful of your allegations.
I know this is still an early thing, But it would be cool if you added a system for people to host their own ttrpg campaign, Something where players can fill out their own character sheets and roll dice to determine outcomes etc
