@SweetMae It would be. I didn't get a job that had much to do with computers until I was around 20, doing maintenance on the university registration and scheduling software. In COBOL. Even so, it was a great job. Sure beat sweeping floors.

I worked in a fish and chip shop during the day. And I cleaned hotel rooms in the evening. Doesn’t sound flashy but I made more money than my friends did and spent more time in nightclubs

First job to be formally hired?..14 years old working for the hometown sanitation dept. loading the trash truck during the summer months while out of school...$1.65/hour.
At the time considered it to be the greatest job ever.
@summersong the hardest was my first year of college. I was trying to do college full time, model part time (for money, and my band full time (and it wasn’t paying much of anything yet.) I know how to work hard from the ranch but this was too much. I didn’t even have time to sleep really and like zero off time for social life, I was dying and something had to give, so I quit college after the first year and perused music and modeling more full time with the extra time that I now had.
@SweetMae Nope hay, corn and soy beans, grass mowing, house maintenance for the elderly couple, garden planting and maintaining and picking, and wood cutting splitting and stacking. Central Ohio area no tobacco.
$1.00 an to start that included a home cooked lunch, and went to a Whopping $20 a day because I was good. I loved the couple like grand parents, and worked for them for 4 years.
