It's insane how far videogame graphics in my life time have advanced..

Compare the nineties polygonal shapes to this clip of a current game in progress.

Back then, you'd think this was real life. (I do think more retro graphics have a nice charm, so I prefer them.)

When I started gaming it was pre 8-bit graphics and we'd have been blown away even by the top image 😆

I do feel games back then had a lot more re-playability. What they lacked in visuals they made up for in obsessive addiction.

Yeah they're never really going to to make as much as a leap in graphics as there was for example between the PS1 graphics and the PS3. Or even the PS1 and the PS2. From Silent Hill to Silent Hill 2. HUGE jump in graphics.

@Allelse I agree. I think it won't be long before videogames are nearly indistinguishable from from what your eyes will show you.

Question then will be, How can we make the game even more immersive? Involving VR no doubt.
