@Lilymoon 65, a resto mod. Frame off restoration, modern suspension, brakes and electrical. Fuel injected 289... so it's sort of original but drives like a modern car.
@Lilymoon Don't I wish, but I do the know the guy (old high school buddy) who did the resto and mods on it. The owner only wants 44k for it... a real steal. 😁
@Elizabeth28 I did. It was a Cutlass but not the supreme model I was so fond of. It was pure crap. No car could be as bad as that car and still be as popular as they were. Unless it was a Chevy Chevette or a Pinto. I only had it 6 months.
I replaced the tires, the muffler, the brakes, changed the oil and plugs, rebuilt the engine when it threw a rod, replaced the alternator, battery , and the computer module. It had a bad habit of draining the battery if it sat for more than 24 hours. In spite of the fact that the electrical system was practically brand new. THEN.....I was driving at night and ran over some trash in the road and I busted the cv joint boot. The plastic boot with the grease. OMG. I wondered why the universe hated me so much. I crawled under the car, manually packed the boot with grease, wrapped a plastic trash bag around it, and duct taped the crap out of it.
I drove to a Saturn dealership in Charleston S.C., stopped a mile from the dealer and ripped off the tape and the plastic bag. Test drove a car and had an estimate for my car.
I agreed to buy the Saturn sedan, and left to get a car loan from the Credit Union. The salesman met me halfway at night a couple of days later ( The dealer was about an hour away ) to trade cars and sign the paperwork. I left the car running so I would not have to worry about it not starting for the salesman. ........lol
I drove away and it began to mist. I had to pull over and go thru the owner's manual to figure out how to cut on the windshield wipers. I drove back to my unit with a smile on my face, I have no idea what happened to the car, but If I had won the lottery, and married the woman of my dreams on the same day I could not have been any happier.
It had to have been a flood car. Hurrican Hugo had gone thru the area about 6 months prior. I could not prove it. But no car could havee been as unreliable as that one.
Oh my the classic ! Before clicking I was a little scared it was going to be the present day one, but now you have my full respect. You got taste ! 👍🏼😜😉
