I am sooo old that I remeber

Being able to start my car without having to put my foot on the break
(I own a car that doesn't require it)
Or having to put the clutch in

I'm so old I can start a tractor like this

But that guy in the photograph, is going to end up with a broken thumb
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
@HumanEarth What should he do to not break his thumb?
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
On your screen can you blow up the photograph?

See how the guys thumb is wrapped around the crank. In case the engine backfires, it will throw that crank rod back in the opposite direction with such force and power. That it will snap out of the hand.

If you hold the way the guy is in the photograph. When engine backfires it will pull your hand and twist it taking your thumb and wrist with it.

Most people just get a broken thumb, some get a broken thumb, wrist, and forearm. All because they forgotten to keep the thumb off the crank

Or use the choke or double clutch or wind window down by hand or see the road through rust holes in floor or pay tenbob for a gallon of petrol

How hard was it to crank start those cars? LOL

I like the non-clutch push in Especially when the car is still in gear! LOL
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@WillaKissing you could move your VW that way
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Pretzel I learned to drive on a 1963 Three on the tree Dodge pickup in a farm field and my father 1974 VW Super Beetle. I an very aware of the movement and lurch of the VW and loved that car.
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
Bro there's still cars out there like that, it's not that old lol
Nebula · 41-45, F
Did you run with your feet like on the Flintstones?
Pretzel · 61-69, M

RenFur · 70-79, M
