A Mischievous Wind

When I was at university a friend and I were setting out for a lecture from our flat. It was a warm day and we had summer dresses on and felt dead smart. As we passed a building site there were certain whistles directed at us which in those days a girl took as a compliment; but then a mischievous gust of wind caught our dresses and threatened to blow them right up.
There erupted a cheer from the building site as two young ladies struggled to preserve their dignity in the wind. We were very red faced and out of breath as we scuttled round the corner. Having regained our composure we had a good giggle and made our way on conscious of the unwitting entertainment we had provided!

My wife remembers those days when she was not insulted or threatened by whistles or comments yelled at her by workers and others. She felt like she must look pretty good.

@samueltyler2 She doesn't get those whistles and comments from workers now because she almost never walks down the street near workers.

@exexec do you ever whistle at her?

@samueltyler2 No, but I do comment on her loveliness.
