From 1978 to 1980, he played the role of Commander Adama in Battlestar Galactica and it's 10 episode sequel series, Galactica: 1980.

@Sidewinder I loved Battleship Galactica in its late 70s form.

The special effects in that were done the same way they were done in Star Wars, and by some of the same special effects crew.
