Mental health is incredibly important, including having a caring therapist.

In addition to your meds, do you workout daily? Try to reduce carbs and sugar in your diet too.

As for the job, there are tons of good employers begging for competent staff. Give that a try too. Being appreciated is SO important.

@OlderSometimesWiser I'm on 20mg Lexapro and recently weened off Trazodone (a month ago, not recent). I guess I need to go back. I just wanted to be off meds. I heard that some people just can't be off meds. But people did that for centuries. Got to be a way. Mindfulness I guess. Haven't reached that yet. I'd like to go away for a week. No phone or alcohol or pills just.....away.

@HellsBelle Please don’t discount how helpful meds can be. People take meds for heart conditions. No one blinks an eye. People take meds for diabetes. No one blinks an eye. But somehow meds for regulating brain chemistry are stigmatized to the point of scaring people off of something that could make a tremendous difference in their lives.

Might be a matter of trial and error but they really can. I speak from many years of experience on the subject. You’re in no way weak for seeking out life saving meds. Which in conjunction with therapy, can provide an even greater chance of recovery and healing.
