Trump can make money the easy way by (a) selling stocks at a high price, (b) posting a "tweet" which will make the stock market go down immediately, (c) buying back those stocks at a lower price, (d) posting a tweet which will make the stock market go up again.
@Thrust When did I ever say that what other people in power do is okay? You and your fellow MAGAs take too much for granted, sorry if I misunderstand your intention. No other president has ever profited as much from their office, particularly in a short 100 days.
Everyone invested in the market did well yesterday. Its funny you libs claim Trump did something illegal without any proof and yet say nothing when people like Pelosi, who actually are doing something illegal, enrich themselves with insider trading. Only libs are allowed to break the law?
He pretends to reverse the impact of NAFTA but while NAFTA exported jobs to destroy the unions. These tariffs are equal to a regressive tax and sticks it to the working man.
@sstronaut I'll remind you again that you ought to resist your programming that teaches you that you can at a distance make such evaluative conclusions.
So now it's my turn.
I'm calm as a well fed Lion in the shade on a Serengetti afternoon and even were I not you're out of place and not of the age or status to call me on it.
You've completely messed up the use of the term "snow flake" in the urban contemporary usage it applies to the generation of overconfident self esteem pumped egotists that were given awards for losing. Though now they've edited the historical record as "participation prizes" we who recall well the 2nd winner absurdity peddled by the new age community church of woke identity whatever. Lol
Now look at you. All starting to grow up and everything and then instead of just letting your mistakes own you so you went and pretended it was all just facetiousness, a joke. Once more I'm still not buying it. 😅
It does no good for any of us Americans or even our closer friends overseas to wish less than success to a man that wants to wrest the breed of greed out of government. Take the power domination away from the tyrants and restore faith in our leaders to do the right things for the 80% of us who have kept taking it on the chin for the last roughly 100 years.
Government is necessary. Too little of it is just as bad as too much of it and I think we all know that bigger is not always better. Especially when you're already the biggest of all.
Do you have any idea how little we can export to the countries which we have agreed to import from all these years because of their , not our, tarrifs impressed upon our Nation?
Do you have any idea what the federal government rate of expansion per year i was currently at 20, 15, even 5 years or last year?
Do you know how much of our paychecks go towards higher education and what percentage of the tax paying public can get a seat in one of those colleges which obtain more than half their income from our taxes?
I'm really wondering how many anti Trump voters, even those who do hope he's going to succeed, truly understand the nature of the fiscal problems the world is facing because of the kinds of people who held office in the last 50 years.
I'm all for partisan politics if they're trying to out shine each others goodness but currently it looks more like a race to the bottom. I'm not following and neither, I believe, is Trump or Elon.
Because, you know that once you've got that first ten billion, the other few hundred come kinda automatically in a rigged game. That uh, is.
@helenS He's a business man, investor and politician. That's what he enjoys doing. He has one of the highest IQ's in the country and people with that kind of intelligence are very business minded and active. We can't fault him for that. He really doesn't need us. He could be out playing golf, but instead, is trying to help the country, and that to me, is very telling of his character and what's in his heart.
@helenS by your logic singers, songwriters, actors, etc. should never see an additional penny beyond $10 million even tho people continue to purchase their songs/movies, etc.. so, who should get that money... the government? why? they didn't create anything. the government gets money from taxing those purchases. the rest SHOULD go to the creator.
@bijouxbroussard Sadly, the weakness in the democratic system is that you dont get to reject him as your President just because you didnt vote for him unless you leave the country and take up residence elsewhere. Your taxes help pay his salary, his secret service detail and his golf trips. He IS your president by default. You dont have to like it. But you have not taken the necessary steps to reject it..😷
@acpguy do you understand what POTUS is really up.to? Twice now he inherited very strong economies, and seems to be willing to sacrifice that for something, or someone.
@bijouxbroussard There does seem to be difference in outlook, in both the UK and USA, where those on the right wiil almost certainly get out and vote for the candidate / party representing their party. On the left it seems the candidate and / or party has to meet some level of perceived perfection otherwise many will withold their vote. That this will allow the opposition to win doesn't seem to register as an issue. They blame the failure of the candidate and / or party to meet their perception of perfection.
@22Michelle The GOP doesn’t follow the rules. That has been so at least since Watergate.
And recently Elon Musk made a point of saying how easy voting machines are to hack. (Begs the question of how and why he knows ?)
In 2020, as well-monitored as the entire process was by both parties, Trump still managed to convince his supporters that it was somehow corrupted, even though they never found a shred of evidence.
No matter how many people would’ve voted for Trump in 2024, after being convicted of 34 felonies, he shouldn’t have been able to even RUN. The fact that he could indicates an actual corruption of the system this time—by the GOP.
