Yes, there's been some shifts, some dropped away and others joined the group but I have been friends with most of them since college or my first job at age 18

Some, yes. I'm not as close to all of them but we're still friends.
ronisme1 · 70-79, M
on here yes
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Yes - Stick with the winners
peterlee · M
Yes, for the last twenty five years.

Two go back over fifty years

My Christian circle has changed.
Tomorrow · 61-69, F
I've moved 3 times in the last 10 years. New places mean new friends.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Yes, and more than one such group, too.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
Yeup that's the homies 👌
Houdini · 56-60, M
No thank god because most of them are dead and I’m not ready for that yet I hope.
exexec · 70-79, C
Yes. Two moved away and one man died. Otherwise, our closest friends are the same ones we found 50 years ago.
4meAndyou · F
Nope! I no longer attend that church. BUT I have retained one or two close friends from that time.
No
I could count my friends on ZERO fingers
DDonde · 36-40, M
Pretty much
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
Several of my closest friends I've known for over 50yrs. The fact that we are still friends says a lot about their forbearance (and my lack of ability to make new friends LOL).
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
No. I'm too weird.
Bri89 · 36-40, M
No, I am not.
@Bri89 What happened?
No, I cut everyone off around that kind of time. I was no longer in a place to be around people. I have no regrets.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@ostfuidctyvm You turning misanthrope must have hurt a lot of feelings, though.
@ArishMell At the time I just didn't care. I was broken and the only person in my world was me as far as I was concerned. I'm not in the same place anymore but the medications have taken away much of my emotion. Not only that though, I realised that I needed to be on my own in order to get my life back together. There was too much shame in me to be around other people. Recovering from addiction is not always a sharing kind of journey.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@ostfuidctyvm I hope you do recover fully.

One of my previous girlfriends was an alcoholic - though it was a while before I knew it - and it had ruied her marriage, so I know how damaging and distressing addiction can be.
Adrift · 61-69, F
Yep, me myself and I.
peterlee · M
@Adrift I’m sure you are being modest.
HumanEarth · F
Yes, now 40 years ago is another storyline
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
Yes. The non-existent one. 😄
Iwillwait · M
Not at all. I have kept in contact with 2 of them. That's it
@CrazyMusicLover What happened?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@SWGhost Different interests, most dispersed across different cities/countries. Nobody of us bothered to keep long-distance friendships alive.
No, I’ve just traveled too much to stay stuck. People come and go. I’m happy with casual acquaintances and have no urge to force friendships. I’m completely at peace with it.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Nope. I don't really talk to any of them at this point.
@InterdimensionalSideEye What happened.
@SWGhost Nothing bad, we all just kind of drifted apart and I’m ok with that. I still have some friends who I value online and off.
