Do wealthy people have REAL friends?

I'm talking Mega-wealthy people...like millionaires/billionaires. Do they TRULY have friendships? Or just groupies who want to hang with them because they're rich? Do they have "fake" friends who are also mega-wealthy who want to hang with them for social prestige? I guess that's actually a lot of questions, but thought it might explain my question a little bit better.
I think they're probably just like you and me in that respect. They make friends with people who are in the same social tier.
We can assume that wealthy people are just human beings like everyone else and form relationships in the same way. Or we can assume that for some reason having a lot of many makes you no longer act like a human being. The former seems more likely to me.

@Pikachu That's kind of what I'm wondering... Do the wealthy people make friends from other people in the same social tier? ...or are they really not "friends" but more like business associates? ...or even "competitive peers" who feel like they have to keep track of one another so the other doesn't gain more status?

It must be a little difficult being wealthy and wondering who you can trust. ...or maybe I'm just too suspicious of people's intentions, I don't know...

No. I don't think so. Or just very seldom.
Most of time is all about money. 🙄

@Loretta78 Will I have True Friends when I become A Rich Celebrity Millionaire
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@JohnOinger You will have only a few true friends from your past when you was still a very normal person.

I wonder that myself

I'm sure they do, or some of them at least. But I can almost bet their money will come first over the life of their friend for most of them.

Sure they do... but it is risky because there is a sense of what each provides the other in the way of status and affluence.

My best friend is a multi millionaire and I am lucky to make 100,000

Oh, it's actually quite the opposite. The more fortunes you have, the more people only after you for your wealth.
I wouldn't know...lol
