Sage words!!
I can forgive anyone that is genuinely sorry for offenses.
@Wildstrawberries

I totally get what you’re saying.

But nooooo to the old times/ timers … I’m no witch by any stretch of the imagination. I’m a child of God. I totally depend on him. I’m sure “old Salem would have burned me at stake. 🥴

But a sensitive soul I am. Sometimes it gets heavy. I’d much rather not feel quite so much. Never want to feel ‘nothing’ but it’s a heavy load for 1 set of shoulders to carry at times. 🙂

I gotta go cut grass. A pleasure to interact with you. 🙂 However that sun is getting hotter as the minutes go by. Take care and God bless.
@MellyMel22 You and I have discussed these things before… 🤗
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse It has been so cool. You take care too :) !

I'm Italian-American. Respect is a BIG deal to me. You gotta give it to get it.
MellyMel22 · F
@uncalled4 Yes!
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@uncalled4 @MellyMel22 When you guys are Italian American, Then you guys are Full Americans. The whole Europe is America and whole America is Europe. They both extend.
@uncalled4 @MellyMel22 or else you sleep with the fishes

You know it dear
Reject · 31-35, M
I have no issues with disrespect. I rather enjoy that part. It means they can be honest with me which is a form of respect in its own right. What I don’t like someone’s inability to handle being disrespected. What that means is I now have to walk on eggshells all day long and be so fake you’d think we’re coworkers trying not to compromise our job. What good is that kind of relationship? Really? One where you can’t even talk about anything that matters because it wasn’t said the right way. I have no time for that. If I walk out, it’s not because you disrespected me. It’s because you showed me that I can’t be myself around you.
@Reject Fair enough. But I didn’t block you, so I wasn’t mortally wounded. 🙂
Reject · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard That’s true! And I’m happy for this. It means it didn’t matter too much to you. It mattered to me though. I don’t like bothering people. That’s never my intent. So when it happens. I don’t forget it.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Reject oh that's true, the "disrespect me and you die" kinda attitude
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
anything's possible but like Jesus said if you expect God to forgive you from all of your sins, try at least to forgive people as much as possible too
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@MartinTheFirst and what do you say to atheists or people who are not *Jesusites*? :)
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Wildstrawberries the same thing
4meAndyou · F
Yup. It can even cause divorces!!!
MellyMel22 · F
@4meAndyou For sure!
Degbeme · 70-79, M
*knocks on the door*

@Degbeme Spanky lol “pant ie”…. 😅
Adroneandastrain · 46-50, M
Definitely, only those mystics who have sat for long periods in arid deserted locations and who have thus mastered their inner beings can extend that kind of forgiveness. The rest of us humans have other things to do which may result similarly in the wonder of things which create that ability, but mustn't be expected from any due to it's epic nature.
MellyMel22 · F
@Adroneandastrain Yeah, some make it a habit and those usually will never change.
Adroneandastrain · 46-50, M
@MellyMel22 Giving them nothing will at first drive them up the wall, but to keep giving the silent treatment only means there will be another victim for their insensitivity. :( It's nice talking with you Mel, you're a good person, will be away for awhile soon, have a good one, Kay? 😊
MellyMel22 · F
@Adroneandastrain Thank you. You too!
Disrespect breaks trust completely and it reveals your character. Disrespect is a reflection of your values, not a temporary mistake. It causes internal shifts. Once someone feels truly degraded, their view of you changes irreparably. Words cannot erase actions. A simple sorry can never undo historical behavior or painful memories.
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@MellyMel22 just let's ship him off to Tom Hanks' and Wilson's island...😁🤷🏼‍♀😜👍🏼😂😀
MellyMel22 · F
@Wildstrawberries Yes! My good friend has said since we met that we need to “goodbye Earl him.” 🤣
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@MellyMel22 I do love the Chicks :D !!! awesome song too
Floki · M
No forgiveness is at times the higher ideal
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@Floki Of course! I know exactly what you mean :) It is such a grace when you can actually not be, as you said, living in it.

But, boy, it can be a long road and that's always subjective and deepens on the circumstances and the person who hurt us.
I mean, if they are still actively hurting us, well: I am all Denzel in Equalizer ! 😌
Floki · M
@Wildstrawberries ❤❤❤
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
@Floki I can't accept three, it's too much praise. one is sufficient.

... okay okay, what the hey.
Words or actions showing disrespect can create lasting consequences, especially in personal or professional relationships.

Apologies can only fix the immediate negative reaction. But apologies cannot undo how people see you specially if you’ve crossed the line of being respectful.

In my case, I could handle disagreement of POV or opinions, for as long as communication is respectful. But the moment the other person violates that respect, there is no undoing it for me.
MellyMel22 · F
@CookieCrumbs Same here. I can respect others opinions as long as they can respect mine.
Ducky · 31-35, F
Absolutely. When I eventually go back to work, based on the reports I’ve been getting, there’s already one such individual I’m going to be professional with and that’s it. Outside of work, I can only hope we don’t run into each other.
MellyMel22 · F
@Ducky It really sucks when things have to come to that.
Ducky · 31-35, F
@MellyMel22 I’m so tempted to go back to work just to tell that little shit off. But then I look at my son and realize there are bigger things in need of my immediate attention.
MellyMel22 · F
@Ducky That’s right! He’s most important. And also, it’d prob make them happy to know it’s bothering you, so try to let it go so they don’t win 🤍
To some extent. Emotions and many other factors play a big role in it.
With immediate family, it's different. But with outsiders, this fits.
MellyMel22 · F
@Royricky09 That makes sense!
fun4us2b · M
Yup - a point of no return...
Depends .. I’m open minded and believe in true remorse, to a point.

Context of character plays a big part in how I feel tbh
MellyMel22 · F
@FreeLittleBird That makes sense 😌
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I rather just don't talk to anyone. That is part of my respect for many. Their own business and my own business especially the world is a piece of shit these days.
MellyMel22 · F
@FreestyleArt That’s why I try to avoid a lot.
There's a thin but distinct line crossed, from which there's no coming back.
It fractures families, life-long friendships, and relationships.
Venomous & cruel; wielded in anger, the tongue is truly mightier than any sword.
MellyMel22 · F
@SethGreene531 I agree! There are some exceptions if handled right then and in the future.
@MellyMel22 Yes, definitely, some connections - especially those with considerable personal investment - are too precious to be dismissed out-of-hand. Addressing the issue immediately is key, I agree.
MellyMel22 · F
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
Yep.
That kind of goes along with first impressions - it takes a second to make a first impression and a lifetime to put it right…
MellyMel22 · F
Wildstrawberries · 41-45, F
It can burn bridges 💯% of the time.
Disrespect could be 'proportional' (which is the tale of two wrongs don't make a right)
and then there are such levels of disrespect,
well, when you know, sadly, you know.
MellyMel22 · F
@Wildstrawberries Yes, exactly!
yes because they would be on fire and it's difficult to apologize when you are on fire

Absolutely

An apology without changed behavior is just manipulation
MellyMel22 · F
@cherny Agreed!
I definitely agree with that. Anyone can have an off day, but blatant disrespect shows you who a person is.
MellyMel22 · F
@bijouxbroussard 100%! There are some exceptions and of course levels of it.
