Unfriend or leave it be

Someone youu've known 32 years. Since middle school. Very good friends for 27 of those years. Then one day your good friend who you spent so much time with over the years ditches you when going to meet up. Then does it again, and then never contacts you again.

It hurt a LOT. Come to find out it's ok she ditched me as a friend because the following year, on social media, I saw some really negative things she said about others who are not well off. I thought Wow I really didn't know YOU. I SEe her on social media and it still pangs me a bit. Would you unfriend them? I felt really strange to actually do it so I have not..but on the other hand I really don't care to see her posts anymore.😟

I had a friend for 20 years; we did many things together, helped each other out, and our husbands were friends, too. We lost touch for a couple of years, and when we reconnected, I discovered her political views were different than mine, which was okay, but I also discovered she was racist very racist, and I couldn't deal with it. We stopped talking, and then I had to unfriend her. I didn't block her, but I did unfriend her, and now we haven't spoken for a few years. It is said, I know.

@WonderGirl I'm sorry. It really feels like Were we friends then??? It feels like you don't know them when someone just turns like that. I think I might actually do it ... thanks 🍀

Sometimes, is difficult as it is, the best thing to do is to protect yourself. If that person is being derogatory and being negative and toxic.. your first responsibility is to your own mental and emotional health. Sadly people change, sadly, the internet changes people. Even after all those years and unfortunately people become something we don't know. If you don't want to see her negative posts in her comments and everything else I would it's very least unfollow that person that way you can still be friends but you won't see anything they put on

32 years....
Thats quite a long time. More than half your life.

Who knows - maybe those people she talked about put her down somewhere/somehow and she just reacted...

For a 32 year old friendship.... I think maybe you should give her a chance to explain herself....

🤷‍♂

@Coralmist well I can't tell you what to do but 32 years ..,.. there has to be a better break off

@SledgeHammer I don't care much anymore really...she sure does not care whatsoever. Didn't care to ever speak to me again.🙁 It's just I feel badly unfriending anyone. But it's probably time .

@SledgeHammer I Def wish it could've been different, we were really good friends. But to ditch me cold turkey for good as if we weren't even friends?? I just have to let go I think ... thank you🌼

I’m not sure I’d bother unfriending anyone. They’d know and it would let them know I cared. I’d just mute their posts and get on with my life. It’s sad when old friends get weird, but it happens.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@joe438 Well the issue is I don't want to really see them or their thoughts anymore. Because they are probably seeing my posts pretty often. I never had thought about it. I really want no connection. I could mute but I'm uncertain if they'd be able to see my posts still too

@Coralmist It is just social media. Blocking is definitely a solution.

I had a good friend who inexplicably vanished from my life. I know he’s alive and well though Facebook and yet he doesn’t speak to me any longer.

Yes, do it. It's done and you'll feel better after the initial odd feeling. You'll feel free 😌

Me, I have no problem unfriending and blocking them out my life and move on, I'm not gonna stress over why they did it, but they did do it, so I'd say bye bye, and move on, good luck🍀

She thinks she's better than you
Unfriend her
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
perhaps she had a mental breakdown? I mean, 27 years is a lot more than a couple of moments
