Remember in highschool when you had to be someone you weren't just to impress others and have friends?

I only made it to sophomore year and dropped out.

And then you graduate and become too depressed to continue the facade, and because you've accepted your true self, you no longer feel the desire to maintain those old friendships that were built on a false persona...
No we were but a few outcasts dressed in black, hanging out by the auditorium stairs, looking for all the world like we were anything other than members of a High school "student body"

I think I missed the part of high school that taught that. I was basically myself throughout high school. Sure, you had the stuck up girls and the cliques, but I stayed away from those people.

Try being yourself.
You will be happier.
So will the people you hang with.

Seems to still be that way.

There was no hope for me, I am still the same guy I was in high school except a little fatter and a lot balder. I had a few friends and 40 years later, we are still friends. Anyone counting on me to impress them to be accepted were sure to be disappointed.

No ...I was myself and didn't care what anyone thought..still kind of like that ...the only difference is I wear less black
They tried that with me, but got a shock when they realise I had more balls than they ever did lol.

I tried that for about 2 seconds when I was 12, I didn't care for it much.
