Who will win the War ?

Russia or Ukraine ?
Vimala · F Best Comment
It is felt ,foolish on the part of Ukraine president to declare that ukraine wont give up. Already colossal damage has been caused to life and property of innocent and peace loving people of ukrain and why he should continue to be a cause for misery. It it well known that ukraine cannot stand the might of Russia and also none of the west is coming to their rescue and support(except lip sympathy and sanctions Which hardly has any effect on Russia).
Ukranian president should have saved the life and property of ukranians (like president of Afghanisthan. Who abandoned the fight and surrendered talibans , to save his people and property and fled Aghanisthan), by accepting the Russian demands/conditions and stopped the bloody war.

No will ?They fought against the Russians & when they were driven out they fought the Americans until they were driven out@Royrogers

@Vimala I completely disagree.

@SW-User Okay

antonioioio · 70-79, M
Let me tell you, Theirs no winners in war
The only thing that comes out of it, is death and destruction
Vimala · F
@antonioioio It is sheer madness to kill innocent people in the name of war. There is no loser or winner it is all a human tragedy thats all.
antonioioio · 70-79, M
@Vimala the Russians are actually targeting civilians to them surender at this stage
Vimala · F
@antonioioio yes. Very true. Though they say their target is military. Ín reality it is otherwise.

They're too close to russia to wear them down with guerilla tactics, Russia can send wave after wave after wave for as long as it may take.

They could depopulate Ukraine and replace every man woman and child with loyal Russian citizens if it comes to that.

There really is no hope for ukraine, there never was, those that don't want to live under Russian rule will have to leave or die.

I hate big governments. They are the greatest evil in this world.

You said

They are having a hard time even getting some initial troops in. Blitzkrieg worked because it was rapid. This is more like molasses-kreig, the way it is going, and Russia has many bodies lost, too.

You also said

The sheer percentage of the current Russian population required to do that makes it very unlikely.

Putin is surely capable of desiring, plotting/planning genocide...but that isn't the same as succeeding at it. He probably cannot do it himself (and before you mention nuclear weapons, consider how winds blow, etc., and that THAT *would* trigger a much stronger reaction).

He is already reaping the rewards of his overreach. May it end soon & swiftly, and with a true peace with Ukraine.
Eternity · 26-30, M
@SomeMichGuy i sure hope you're right

Russia has yet to use every weapon in their conventional arsenal.

They're still pulling punches so as to be able to keep using the excuse that this is simply a "special military operation" and not a full scale invasion.

Will Putin relent or will he double down? That is the question.
@Eternity

I hope so too

But it's unlikely that anyone outside of Russia--and damn few inside, too!--believes/believe Putin's nonsense, except for perhaps a guy in FL and his followers.

It's an invasion by starving, unpaid, unmotivated troops who don't want to be there and are deserting.

Behind them, their friends & families are starving and dealing with massive disruption to their home economy. Ahead, they have people fighting for their own cities, farms, homes, families, lives...and they are fighting tooth and nail.

It's not a good time to be in the Russian army.

And *they* all know that Putin is to blame.

So it's also not a great time to be him, finally.

No winners. Wars only cause death & destruction.

@Subalugirl No ands or buts for ya. There's your answer. Take it or leave it.

@SW-User The day this Earth came into exists to till the dooms day War will be there....Take it or leave it....👈
SW-User
@Subalugirl Still, no winners. Only death & destruction.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
Likely Russia in the end. We never should have kept expanding NATO, we were warned this would happen back in the 90s.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
@Subalugirl No, and I think what is happening to Russia financially will slow down China's desire to take Taiwan.
Royrogers · 61-69, M
@Subsumedpat you are on the right track
@Subsumedpat The only failure was the West not declaring a new Marshall Plan to help rebuild Eastern Europe AND Russia.

It would have been far cheaper to show up with smiles, resources, help to rebuild, make new friends, bind our countries together better, than to have allowed the ground to continue to be such that the old Communists could still thrive there...
Ozdharma · 61-69, M
Russia will be the looser even if they continue destroying the Ukraine
Royrogers · 61-69, M
@Subalugirl then i disagree with you
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@Royrogers I don't care 💁‍♀️
Royrogers · 61-69, M
Ha you think I do ha ha@Subalugirl
Neither side; the outcome will be an ongoing quagmire for Russia and hell for Ukraine.

Russia will need a hundred thousand occupation troops indefinitely, and Ukrainians will wage guerrilla warfare against the occupiers. Russia's acts against civilians will be displayed around the world on social media, thus keeping up the pressure for sanctions and keeping Russia a pariah.
@ElwoodBlues I hope that your possible future is wrong...*sigh*
I know who I want to win. And I know who I think is gonna win 😞
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
I am hoping Ukraine with the support of the world.
MissTaken · 36-40, F
Morally Ukraine - Militarily Russia
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@Teggy China ? 🤔
@Subalugirl oh for sure. USA and Russia. Both at an all time low. China gonna “bail” both out and have them in its pockets 😌

Then they’ll slide on over and take Taiwan like they wanted too a few months ago with no one to stand in their way 😅
Vimala · F
Hats off to the grit and determination of Ukrainian people and their army. The calculations of Russia is proved wrong.Russians are already morally defeated.they mY occupy Ukraine by their bute force but they cannot sustain.
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
If there is any justice in this world Ukraine will and putin will get done for war crimes and genocide . Along with all the senior army offices that went along with this madness.
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@Rhode57 I think Russia has been very Peaceful Country...How many wars Russia has fought in last 70 Years ?
Tres13 · 51-55, M
USA illegal war in Iraq Justice?@Rhode57
djjohnson · 41-45, M
Depends what how you define winning. But unless the world actually stands up to Russia they are going to get everything they want. They have to pay more than they planned but in the end what's to stop them?
Russia might win the war nominally, but Putin & his group have united the West against this empire-building bullshit.

He has lost on the international stage, and has people--both rank-and-file and higher-ups--are coming out against him. His vaunted military is not being paid or fed, is having *logistics* problems almost in sight of their country, and is even deserting.

This war was not sought by Russians, not supported by Russians, and even those living under Putin & his stranglehold on information can smell his big rat prints all over this debacle.

When Mastercard, VISA, the Swiss, international banks, etc., go to war against you...smh.
rfatoday · 61-69, M
Somehow I don't see Ukraine coming out on the winning side. If they war stops I don't think Putin would accept anything less than loss of their sovereignty. I am concerned it will escalate before we find out who wins or loses.
Incorrect question.

Instead, ask what steps to be taken to restore peace.
@Subalugirl 😔 Plight of exclamations.

Ok.
antonioioio · 70-79, M
@Subalugirl why would he surrender when every man woman and child in his country says fight to the end
Tres13 · 51-55, M
More deaths if he does not @antonioioio
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I see a lot of pessimism towards Ukraine in these comments. People don't know the history of Ukraine.
Look at figures like Nestor Makhno and do on. The army he was part of fought against the Red Army, the White Army and invaders from Austria.
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@basilfawlty89 Yeah...
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
The US is so corrupt at the moment it can't figure out how to fight a war so there is that.
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@hippyjoe1955 US is also Helpless !
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Subalugirl It has all the military might it could ever need but it is corrupt to the core and allowed a presidential election to be stolen and an incompetent boob made president. If America can not see that or fix that then America as we knew it is finished.
zorroo · 56-60, M
stronger always a winner.
zorroo · 56-60, M
@antonioioiowhen was that? what I know is that Russia invaded Finland in 1939 and occupied 10% of Finland lands for a long time.
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@zorroo Don't you think Putin looks very handsome as compared to Joe Biden 💁‍♀️
zorroo · 56-60, M
@Subalugirl A president shouldn't look handsome, but the fact is that Putin is way smarter than Biden.
definitely, Putin is more handsome than Biden.
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
There are no winners in war
Subalugirl · 22-25, F
@BarbossasHusband War Makes and change the history....Stop Singing this fooling saying that No Winners in War 💁‍♀️
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
@Subalugirl Just because it makes and changes history, thay doesn't mean my original sentiment is any less valid.
walabby · 61-69, M
All will lose. Maybe even us... :(
