What are recipes that require alot of apples?

Beside desserts I have used them to make a salad with sliced celery, grated carrots, and walnuts or pecans, make a dressing like you would for coleslaw or use poppyseed dressing.

I also braise some chicken and put some chopped onion and minced garlic in it before it gets browned on the other side. Then add peeled chunks of potato, sliced carrots, yellow summer squash and an apple or two cut into wedges, salt and pepper. Put a little water in it and turn down the heat and cover with a lid and cook it till the veggies are done. The apple pieces add some sweetness to the dish.

I also juice them to drink or sometimes add other fruit to the juicer to go with it.

Try Fried Apples. Old old dish...........back to the 30's. Put 2-3 big TBSP butter in a skillet.....( Or two TBSP each.....50-50 butter with bacon drippings if you save them) Slice up enough apples to overfill the skillet.............skin still on. Pour 1/2 cup of sugar over..........i big teaspoon of cinnamon.......Mix well......cover skillet and fry until they cook to soft.....................NOT mushy. Good with ANYTHING as a side dish.
