Does senior management realize that “loosening up” is achieved by not having “fun events” at work, but rather by giving employees more personal time

To spend AWAY from work? Like for me to have fun, I need to actually want to hang out around the people I want to have fun with?

They should just make you management so you can implement these brilliant ideas!

In my company we do it a bit differently. There's a group of us across three or four departments (Customer Management, sales, HR etc) who do random potlucks at work. We have our own groupchat etc. It doesn't involve everyone from my own department

We set up in the pantry and while anyone who walks through can take a plate, it's not something that's Management directed. It's for us, willingly shared food with colleagues who have made our lives easier, not harder.

The other day we had dried laksa, sambal prawns, kueh, egg salad, chicken nuggets, springrolls, pandan teh( milk teah with pandan leaf flavouring) minipizzas, cupcakes...

big spread. I can't cook so I provided the table covers, utensils and plates

I'm not too keen on parties fullstop. Parties in an office environment, during my free time and with people I barely see from one day to the next, are even less attractive.
