I Think Boo-Boo Knew It Was Sunday…When I Woke Up This Morning He Was Saying “Pancakes”….

Maybe he links hearing the Sunday Morning Show opening with pancakes that I sometimes make on Sunday mornings. He said it several times.
He's so funny.

@BizSuitStacy the boy was in FaceTime with his friends and brought the parakeets in his room to show them. I don’t know if they believed him how well they talked but he had told them that Boo-Boo would say “Parakeet, Parakeet, We Don’t Care.” When I would fuss at him for flapping his wings and stirring up feathers and making a mess. The way he said it sounded like a little poem so I would tell him “Parakeet, Parakeet, We Don’t Care…We Drink Beer In Our Underwear” because I wanted to make a rhyme for them. Well that afternoon while he was on FaceTime Boo-Boo said the whole thing and it tickled those boys, he spoke clear enough that they heard & understood. One of them said he was going to get parakeets and he bought 4 and a big cage. The funny thing was that boy who bought the birds had a little brother in 1st grade at the same school he went to (private school through 8th grade) and he was in the room when Boo-Boo said that. He went to school one day and said it in the classroom and someone told the big brother and asked where he got it 🤭🥴
@cherokeepatti That's too cute. I never realized parakeets "talked" until you started sharing your stories. A couple of my friends had family parrots. Supposedly, they would talk, but never when I was around.

@BizSuitStacy I think most birds are a bit shy & reserved until they get to know people. There was an African Grey parrot at the pet store where I buy seeds etc and he was in the room with the other birds that were for sale. I would go in to look at the birds every trip there and that parrot would look at me as I was talking to him but never said anything back until I opened the door to leave. Then he would do this robot sound and say a couple of things as I was walking out. I think he wanted me to stay and he did it every time. I had one parakeet, Baby, that would talk a lot. My friend came over for lunch and I went to the bathroom right after she got there. When I walked back into the living room I heard her say “I am not allowed to touch anything?” She was looking at something and touching it and Baby started saying “What are you doing?” 😂. I told him to be nice.

@Coralmist I was resting outside the sun room after mowing the yard and there he was in his cage in the sun room complaining about what he would get to eat. I wasn’t in the mood for it, he knew I was working, he usually says “Working, Working” when he sees me doing yard chores but not today.

@cherokeepatti Very perceptive, wow!

What does he say for the other days of the week?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus Different things. But Sunday is different as far as what is on TV etc. And he knows I sleep later and we usually have a better breakfast.

@Nimbus Another terrible effort today, no heart, you cannot buy players all the time without any heart and ticker
Nimbus · M
@nedkelly Indeed.
The mentality is not right.
Plus some players are just not good enough like Weghorst and Sancho.

yeah well that message has to sink into that Bullet Proof Brain you have, lol

@FurryFace Boo-Boo is not the most patient bird. He found out when he says something and I understand (And he says “I understand” or “You heared me” quite a bit after I repeat something he says & add something to it) what he is saying. He will start asking me to take care of him if I go into the kitchen and start cooking or washing dishes or when the boy comes through the door, he wants to be Number One Child in this house. Sometimes he even says it when I’ve already cleaned all their cages, gave them fresh food & water & greens. Then I tell him he’s a poor little neglected bird and maybe he should called the Humane Society and turn me in.

@UnderLockDown Squirrels love pancakes if you make them thin and let them dry out in the sun where they are crispy. I used to cook the leftover pancake batter for the squirrel that lived in the maple tree in the backyard and put the pancake in the crook of the lower branches and she’d get it within 30 minutes and take it to her nest.
