I got two chooks from the Chicken and chip shop. Kept them in the lower oven to keep warm as I baked some Baby Potatoes and Sweet potato. (seasoned with Black pepper, garlic salt and cumin) Made Brown Onion gravy. A coleslaw and tossed salad.
Oak smoked bavarian frankfurters with cheese and fried onions in hot dog buns with mustard and ketchup. Very yummy, but after the football tastes great.
I was clearing out a pantry and found a packet of yorkshire pudding mix and thought "Why not" So grabbed a few sausages and followed the instructions and made a baking dish of "Toad in the hole" A little onion gravy and some peas. Comfort food.. And half left for tonight..😷
@PatientlyWaiting25 Like I said, I was cleaning out a pantry (we have two) since I am alone in the house now I am tidying/decluttering and finding things.. This was near the back of a cupboard. So it was use it or throw it out. I made the right decision..😷
@meggie Exactly.. As my wife declined she became a bit of a hoarder. I finally got motivated to tackle the second pantry where a lot of the dry goods were kept and uncovered a number of packets, like the yorkshire pud and rissotto and tea, coffee and spice. (Dont tell me I dont have thyme) So some goes out and some now gets sorted into orderly piles..😷
The wife is making hot chicken quesadilla, with miso soup, garlic bread and royal potato's sides. In the second oven, she's got chocolate muffins going, served with custard and cream.
@PatientlyWaiting25 I made a very simple dish of sausage, black beans, crushed tomato, spice, and topped with grated cheddar cheese. No recipe. Just threw some things together. It was quite good! ❤
@PatientlyWaiting25 we aren't that organized, even when we lived in our condo with a deep freezer in the garage. It sometimes adds to the excitement of discovering something new to eat, lol.
