Can you use olive oil in the place of coconut oil in a recipe that call calls for coconut oil?

Would you be able to taste the difference?

Depends on the recipe. What are you making?

@Spoiledbrat You might miss a bit of coconut flavor, but olive oil should work OK

@Spoiledbrat coconut oil is in that recipe to hold it together because it is solid at cool room temp. Might not come together with olive oil
@Ragnarock1276 Thank you
Coconut oil has a strong flavor. Olive oil has a fruity flavor. If you have no coconut oil, I'd substitute a neutral tasting oil like canola or vegetable oil. If you have it. Or if you use olive oil maybe mixing it with butter so it has a little of the nuttiness yo get with coconut oil.
I'm making granola with dates in it. @JonLosAngeles66
@Spoiledbrat good luck!

No I'd not replace it, coconut oil is sweeter.
