Reheated coffee

Do you reheat your coffee? And if so, how old is the coffee you’re willing to drink?

The oldest I’ve had is 1 day.
My sons put the old coffee into a mason jar in the fridge and drink iced coffee with milk in the afternoons!
SW-User
@ElwoodBlues I’ve never been a fan of iced.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@ElwoodBlues that’s what I do
Matt85 · 36-40, M
hell naw
coffees not that expensive
noexpectations1 · 41-45, M
I don't reheat, I like it cold
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
I regularly re-heat my coffee. I only like it hot or freezing ice cold. And, it has to be French Press & black.
GypsyMiss · 41-45, F
@SW-User you probably have. It's universally known as french press, but in Australia/NZ we call it 'plunger coffee'

SW-User
@GypsyMiss oh I know what it is. But I’ve actually never tried it. Maybe I shall one day.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@SW-User it’s delightful made this way
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Only if I bought it from a coffee shop.
If I brew it at home, I'll either toss it and get a fresh cup... errr I know it's gross but sometimes I pour it tepid back into the carafe and swirl with what's left that's still hot, but only when I'm home alone.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
There's no sense drinking it after a half hour the caffiene is weak and it tastes like a boiled boot.
SW-User
@SteelHands @smileylovesgaming I’ve never had boiled boot, so I’ll have to take y’all’s word for it. 😂
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@SW-User You have it right nobody actually has.

I'm not predisposed inventing analogies however boiled boot as a description of stale coffee is an old one.

It's from the early 20 century and not commonly passed down by mostly modesty people of generations that endured raising their families through a depression, an actual pandemic, the invention of soap, fancy toothbrushes, paved roads and a couple of world wars.

You see, having been raised by those steely stout survivors without the money to buy a thrill helps me remember everything they related to me. So I'm not like the 21st century smart people we have round these days.

I'm kinda dumb that way. I don't even know if I have a pot big enough to boil a boot. For all we know it's not even all that terrible if you're starving to death. 🙄
SW-User
@SteelHands that was quite detailed. Probably like rock soup.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
were/are you in the military by any chance - the reason I ask is you sound like my dad :)
SW-User
@Pretzel no. Regret that I never joined. But I’m just cheap in that way.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@SW-User and it's still coffee

I have a coffee cup that says "it doesn't have to taste good, it just has to work"
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I will reheat it. sometimes several times I’ll reheat the same coffee over the day at work cuz it gets so busy and I forget about it
Yes. I make extra shots of double strong coffee and reheat it with boiling hot water to make Americano's with it.
WillaKissing · 56-60
The same one day old, and I do not reheat it though. I pour it into a cup and make a new batch and add to the old to warm it up.
Monday2 · 51-55, F
I usually reheat in the afternoons and have a cup. Coffee is too expensive to waste
SW-User
@Monday2 I agree there.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
We've made coffee that we reheated for a couple of days when we were having some repair work done.
very rarely , and if so then only within the hour , otherwise I'll pour it out and make a new one
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
I always reheat yesterdays coffee in the microwave. Rarely ever have coffee older than one day
SW-User
Update: I brewed fresh today. So those appalled yesterday can breathe easy.
anoderod55 · 61-69, M
I make a new pot every Friday . Put in fridge and cover . Add water and reheat . ☕
akindheart · 61-69, F
i don't like the taste of coffee but i think to reheat it would be ok
OverTheHill · 56-60, M
Very rarely will I do that. I want to brew it fresh, and drink it.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
I prefer to put it on ice at that point and have iced coffee
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Only if it cools before I finish drinking it.
KimmyGary · F
I stopped drinking coffee altogether
pdockal · 56-60, M
I only brew one cup ... 24oz ... @ a time
Ontheroad · M
No, I'd sooner drink it cold.
Dirtyboyy67 · 56-60, M
3rd day coffee is my limit.
novaguy2u · 70-79, M
I can't stand reheated coffee.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
Reheated coffee is an absolute crime. Well, if you're reheating coffee, you're probably drinking dirt in the first place. Okay, carry on.
SW-User
@Howudoin I’ve received several citations and have a court appt next week.
Howudoin · 41-45, M
@SW-User ah, so I'm on the right path, lol!

SW-User
@Confined I expected this. More yucks than yums lol
onewithshoes · 22-25, F
Way too often.🙄
IronHamster · 56-60, M
I don't even reheat it, but I wouldn't go more than twelve hours. My kitchen compost gets gross if left a couple days, and I am sure coffee can start growing mold in the same amount of time.
Sevendays · M
No, just no.
I drink iced coffee, usually. I prepare a large pitcher and keep it in the fridge. I only drink a glass a day, so it lasts a few days.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
I like it fermented.
I woudn't reheat coffee

I don't mind drinking it when it's no longer hot (and in fact that probably lowers your esophageal cancer risk from drinking hot beverages, and would make it easier to use a non-steel straw to keep the staining and acidity away from your teeth ... acidic beverages aren't a friend to teeth)

I even like it iced

But I've never had any lingering for more than a couple of hours anyway, I never brew more than enough to fill my mug one time per day (which is basically two scoops out of the bag or can of whatever coffee at I have at the moment
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
Yuck! No!
