@exexec I would think anything you share with your grandparent at a quiet time of the day is just better. Time with a grandparent can be a wonderful gift.
I can't remember ever having had coffee with dissert apart from holiday gatherings, but I did always enjoy it with pie.😋 Always enjoyed morning coffee more though.😋😄
I dont drink coffee but i heard a commercial today as i was driving for Samra coffee. It sounded delicious. If i drank it i would want to try that one.
Some of the best coffee I’ve had was back in the 80s at the Automat in NY. I think if it as sort of it as diner coffee but it was amazing. Horn and Hardart is now selling it. I just ordered some to see if it’s as good as I remember.
@onewithshoes I agree with the former, particularly when we eat at a Mediterranean, Greek or Turkish, restaurant. Then and only then do i like sugar in my coffee, I love a triple Turkish coffee extra sweet. otherwise i may have 4 or 5 cups of black, unsweetened coffee during the day. Right now, I have a massive cup of ice coffee made with mostly decaf freshly ground decaf drip and a pod of Nescafe pistachio vanilla. The other times would be double espresso from fresh ground beans.
The best restaurant coffee I ever had was at a place called Lois The Pie Queen over in Oakland. They have very delicious food, too, and legendary pies, but when I’ve gone I’ve also gotten several cups of coffee. I once asked what brand it was, but they wouldn’t tell me. 😭
