@Sevendays I live in a mountain resort area so I get that. It's happened everywhere. Big money moves in and locals get screwed. Reason #21 I think short term rentals need to be banned because they've had a definite influence.

@Ynotisay they definitely have made fewer homes available for buyers. Many of the locals who did live here sold their houses for inflated prices and moved to Saranac Lake

@Sevendays Yeah. People leave. And I imagine the same thing will play out in Saranac Lake. What's happened where I am is that less people are willing to rent to locals because they know people are out there wanting investment properties. No housing means workers leave and businesses close. But the STR thing has a ceiling and a whole lot of people who bought them, sometimes without even seeing them in person, are getting hammered. They're not making their nut. So they try to get out but the asking price is set to cover their losses. It's a vicious cycle.

Tim Horton was on his way TO Buffalo, he was not traveling from Buffalo.

On his way to Buffalo, he stopped in Oakville Ontario at his doughnut shop business office and called his brother on the phone who noted that Tim sounded very drunk. He tried to persuade Tim to stay in Oakville for the night, but Tim pressed on and drove to Buffalo anyway.

Upon arriving in St. Catharines at the Lake Street exit while fleeing police who'd been called by a woman who reported a fast moving car, Tim lost control of his sports car as it entered the center median which was a grassy area separating the eastbound and westbound lanes of Queen Elizabeth Highway.

Upon entering the grassy center median, his left front tire caught a recessed steel water drain which then flipped his car upside down causing it to land on it's roof.

Tim's body was ejected from the car because he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was found 137 feet away from his car in the center median.

It's only lousy coffee in the Tim Horton franchises in the USA, but not Canada which is where Tim Horton was from.

@swirlie I don't think that. He promoted donuts for slobs. Athletes don't live off of donuts unless they're John Daly.
