Is this beer nasty?

No, not nasty, just middle shelf at best. It is wierd though, when I was young I used to drink beer like Shaeffers, Grain Belt, Blatz, whatever was cheap. Occasionally PBR would make the list. Never really cared for it....Now it seems to be making a comeback.

If I am going to drink a beer from my youth that actually tastes good (because they went back to their recipe from my youth) I am going to drink Schlitz.

No. None of the mainstream beers taste good. But you don't buy those beers for the taste, you buy them to get drunk. If you want a tasty beer, I'd recommend a craft beer. Whatever local ones they have in your area. Depending on what kind of beer is to your liking, I guarantee all those cheap accessible beers like Pabst will taste like urine in comparison.
