Hot weather and barbecue time in UK

I don't actually understand why people do barbecues on hot days as it actually makes me hotter🥴, but I did some burgers and chicken earlier on and my mum did pizzas.
The kids a few doors up thought they could soak me with the hose as usual but I was ready for them and disconnected it much to there puzzled faces.
I sorted it after and proper soaked them before they went home, they never learn😂😂.
Going to be hot all week so happy days.
