The bbq sauce needs to be lightly sweet. Not too vinegary but not too sweet. I enjoy Sweet Baby Rays sauce. For sides I love corn bread or salad or baked potatoes.

@4meAndyou Probably not a sweetener that I can tolerate though. So many sugar free products have chemicals or sugar alcohols in them these days. Let me check

@4meAndyou has sucralose and allulose. Allulose is made from fruits and now all pit fruits are messing with my digestion andI have to avoid them. There is one type of natural sugar alcohol in them that creates havoc in my gut.

I was just over in the philippines and they like a liver based sauce but as I have gout liver is not an option. I made a sauce using 1/2 cup Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1/4 - 1/2 cup Devils Spit dry rub.
Ended up making a second batch for them before I left.
