Those Candy cigarettes. My grandma use to give them to me when I was 4. I'd sit next to her and smoke with her 😂

@Jenny1234 maybe it's why I like cigars so much now
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Cigarguy I was going to ask you if the candy cigarettes may have had something to do with cigars!!
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
@Jenny1234 this one of the few good things I remember about my childhood

Those look good! I never had one back then or saw it. I loved those peanut butter bars ..it had a graham or cookie base, as a stick, PB, and covered on chocolate. I remember my friend giving me one at her house, I had never had them. My mom only bought it twice or so after that when I asked her. I was like ten. I buy them a few times a year now. So good!!

Growing up I wasn't allowed to have any snacks or treats except apples or cheese slices...unless we were taking the relatives from out west around to the historical sites...and there was the Wayside Country Candy Store...which has since moved to Marlborough. It was like an 1800's Country store, with real pickles in the pickle barrels and a Nickelodeon machine, and about a hundred jars of penny candy.

I was always allowed to have penny candy on those occasions, and my favorites were the coconut flavored watermelon slices.

Shake-a-Puddin’. This was the ticket, back in the day, and it tasted pretty good. Not sure why it was discontinued.

I don’t think I ever saw those.

I was obsessed with fruit snacks 😬
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@MellyMel22 Yeah, if you blinked, they were gone.
Well, this makes it look like a pregnancy test but you’d dip your candy stick into what is basically flavored powdered sugar. Dentists must have made millions from its use.

@OlderSometimesWiser that was a good one - good candy and good joke
SailN1 · 56-60, M
@OlderSometimesWiser Hilarious! I was just trying to remember the name of it, and *poof*, here it is.

@eyeswideshut Yeah we got those and the Raspberry Yogurt ones, from the Schwans delivery man, growing up. Too bad they got so overpriced and shut down.
@MayorOfCrushtown I remember when the musical ice cream truck came into the neighborhood, with huge "bomb pops".😋

I don’t think I’ve seen an ice cream truck this century. 🤔
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard Yes, it's been a couple of decades for me as well. Ever since I moved away from Milwaukee, I haven't seen nor heard one.
@bijouxbroussard we still see them around here during the summer.

@eyeno I never cared for Pez or Smarties like candy. Now Gummy Bears I can get behind.
