@PoetryNEmotion I just steam the peas and put olive oil and butter and salt and pepper on them. One time when I was a teen my sister wanted us to have creamed onions for Thanksgiving because her husbands family had them every Thanksgiving. My aunt bought a jar of those tiny pearl onions and made a cream sauce….I don’t know who thought that was ever a good idea to do that to onions, it was gross as hell. I wouldn’t do it to peas because of the creamed onions. Some families have weird food traditions.
@BizSuitStacy I hadn’t drank coffee for a couple of months and bought the boy a little bag of caramel pecan coffee and made some yesterday, it was so good I’m going to buy a big bag for him.
@Stereoguy I have made it with canned chopped chili peppers. But the Mexican cornbread has browned ground beef, a bit of chopped onion, a can of chili peppers and some grated cheddar cheese in it. Have to be careful not to put too much of the filling ingredients in it. You slice it up after baking and it’s almost like having a meal. I made 3 skillets of Mexican cornbread for a bean dinner fundraiser at work 25 years ago and it was all gone by the time I was in line to eat….about 24 wedges.
