I need a investor

I have a serious idea for a restaurant. I know how to make the food that would be made. I simply need an investor. I won't tell anyone what it is unless lawyers get involved to make sure my idea can't get stolen. However this would be something adults would enjoy and primarily children would live it. It’s really something a whole family could do together to share a culinary experience and it's a food both children and adults love until they're dead. I've never heard 1 person say they don't enjoy this food especially because it can be made in a variety of ways. It's a great idea for a first date, you can create it yourself or with your family and the experience can help create fond memories

Just to toss this out there, my ex-wife owned a successful restaurant in Los Angeles. And even though it was successful she was forced to close after almost 20 years. Something like 60% close after three years. There is so much more that goes in to a restaurant that most don't know. So while the culinary aspect is important it's far from the whole story. Maybe you've looked in to the many additional components but, if not, I think that would be a very wise thing to do. Good luck.

@Ynotisay well I've got 20 years of restaurant experience. But that means nothing

@Iwishididit OK. If you've run a restaurant then you're aware. That wasn't mentioned which is why I commented.

I'm not sure what you are looking for here. But if it's for an investor, the lack of details even without getting into specifics to protect your own interests suggests you have no idea what you are doing.

If you are doing the social media thing and looking for attention, talking about a food idea that everyone will enjoy... well, it just doesn't deliver.

If this a practise run on your pitch to investors... this won't even get you into the room.

Here is my counsel: Determine what your objective is and build a persuasive case for it instead of worrying about who might steal it. What you have done here reminds me of people who dream (big) of starting their own business and start by getting excited by a potential logo.

I hope this helps.

@MarkPaul It depends , if its process how to make it , which decide the the outcome . Ingredients for the most has to be disclosed. Today 80 % of ideas gets stolen. Just ask China 🥳
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Khenpal1 Yes, that's true. But this guy is trying to win over investors... at least that's what I think he is doing. And, to get an investor even interested, he is going to have to take a risk by giving out more than it's a "specific food." For example, is it ethnic, is it spicy, is it a dessert or dessert topic, is it a meal, is it healthy, is preparation fast or elaborate, does it require locally grown ingredients, or will it require foreign outsourcing?

Serious investors are not going to jump through NDA hoops for some random guy on the Internet who claims to have a great idea about some "specific food."
Khenpal1 · M
@MarkPaul NDA means nothing today , plus he is talking about food item and lets ask what's the benefit for investor ?

How much are you needing to start your restaurant? What so say you need $50000. Here is a way for you to make the money and not have to deal with investors. Find fifty friends who are willing to put up $1000 in return for this you can do it multiple ways. Tell them once the restaurant is up and going. They will have two thousand in credit to use at the restaurant. You could have what's called an owner's club? Where they get 10% off? Their entire check for their entire life. Or
Come up with some other repayment plan for each one of them.
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@dale74 well i better start making friends. I have all of none because i don't truly care to be friends. I don't hate people, but I'm not willing to have friends anymore after being screwed over by so many
dale74 · M
@Iwishididit just gotta choose your friend's wiser.
And typically i look for friends that are similar to myself. My friends can call me at two in the morning.I'll get up and drive three hours to go help em.Get off the side of the road. I'll buy someone a meal and go hungry. If they need the food. Etc.
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@dale74 i spent 5 years on the streets and got myself off of it. But as far as friends go. I'm not qise enough to even pick my nose so there goes picking good friends
We're all broke here.
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@MsSwan people on fb are broke too yet i know people qho made mlney for shit like new teeth on there
Jayciedubb · 56-60, M
Fondue? ..anyway, you need potential investors to sign a non-disclosure agreement
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@Jayciedubb yes for fondue that would be great. If thats what this was
in10RjFox · M
🤣😂 wish the world was so easy .. Any investor is going to ask you what have you done till now? have you created the food? do you even have a kiosk? and why should anyone trust you with money, when you can just vanish with the money.. And what is your ask? $10K $100K or $500K... No investor is going to come knocking at your door to sit and have a chat with you. You need to present your business plan.

And what is it you are doing now? are you employed? what is your monthly income ?
in10RjFox · M
@Iwishididit you will pay the lawyer fees ? or should it be borne by the Investor too ?
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@in10RjFox since they need a lawyer too, we each pay our own fees
Iwishididit · 41-45, M
@in10RjFox my monthly income is my knowledge. I do construction is all i will say
carpediem · M
I hate to tell you, but a unique idea backed up by good food may seem like the right recipe if you just add cash. But there’s so much more. Good luck putting it all together.
