I Did A Search On Walmart for Nutella and One Of The Categories They Had It Listed For Was “Hurricane Foods”…

So now Nutella is a survival food.

Like peanut butter. Long self life. Pretty much anything made of nuts would be. Why squirrels horde and hide them over the long winter.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DeWayfarer probably too little for them. I have a small pecan tree and the little bastards have already stripped the pecans off of it. I should have gotten up on a ladder and sprayed each one with cayenne pepper water. It hasn’t rained enough to wash it off.

@cherokeepatti good way to stop them 👍

@DeWayfarer too late this year though. When I had a bird feeder they would steal the sunflower seeds. I finally got a bottle of cayenne pepper and mixed it with the seeds and filled the feeder with them. It stopped those squirrels real quick.

It really is

@SW-User I guess if you didn’t have toast or pancakes to put it on just get a big spoon and go to town on it 😂

@cherokeepatti works for me

Packed with carbs and chocolate which is an energy booster. Makes sense actually
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Longpatrol I wasn’t expecting that one. I did buy a couple of jars of it at the discount store to have on hand for when TSHF for my home baked bread.

It has a long shelf life and doesn't spoil. Ideal for emergency relief
thats how i am with peanut butter. of course, i eat peanut butter almost every day. LOL
Lostpoet · M
it's caloric dense and high in fat and sugar.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Lostpoet also a taste treat. Can’t live on canned beans, soup and crackers alone.
Too sugary for me, something with more fat and protein. Might be eating lots of wild rabbit in the near future... we have a gallon of filtered bacon fat, is that too much?😆
@cherokeepatti Wow, that's a lot of fat!! The way I use it that stuff (5 gallons) would last for years. It's mostly for avoiding rabbit fever and making gravy when the urge strikes me. We have so many wild rabbits that some of the larger male cats hunt them on a regular basis, and baby rabbits are considered a feline delicacy. I figure if the stores close down I won't starve for a while. 😆
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@UnderLockDown too bad people can’t hunt in town. There’s enough squirrels and Canada geese here in the suburbs that live on residential neighborhood lakes to feed a small army.
@cherokeepatti Pigeons are another good option, despite their reputation. I see flocks of them in the hills here, I would think they have a fairly healthy diet. They don't hang out in town, so no trash food...🍗 They are also quite large. We have quail, but they are too small to bother with, the doves are bigger.
