I can be exactly as civil as I need to be to get by, or to get someone so mad that they blow up and get reprimanded for it.

It’s also why I brought nothing but the spiciest food I could handle in to the office for about three weeks.

@TiffAching That is great!

Oh yes I have. One ended up stealing Ex-lax brownies out of a co-workers desk drawer . She called in sick the next day saying she had a stomach virus. And that was the end of food being stolen in that office.

pure capsaicin powder is the perfect remedy for that...
Iwillwait · M
@wildbill83 what is that?
PatKirby · M
In the grocery/drugstore business we call that "grazing."

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PatKirby the other deli workers knew. And there was a Subway restaurant next to the deli, at every break time and lunch she would go in there and refill her super-large Subway cup with soft drinks and walk out. She claimed the manager told her that she could do it. I saw the WM go in there and talk to him and he was pointing his finger at him ordering him not to give her drinks. I think doing that just made her feel entitled to steal the deli food. I don’t know why they didn’t fire her for stealing so much food, but she was still there months later after I quit.

@cherokeepatti That doesn't sound right. Maybe they held back because she had connections? Or did they need to catch her red handed first?

Wow, that's a lot of food, what a porker!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PatKirby She seemed to have felt entitled to so that

I know a guy that was in prison, the younger guys kept taking his food.
Until it was chili, he said Draino worked wonders🙂
Never had anymore problems.

Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 it was more as to what was convienent in his case I believe
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@wildbill83 someone told me that he was living in a rooming house next to the campus and had a community kitchen with as single refrigerator for everyone. One of the roomers would drink an entire carton of milk and eat whatever food he wanted to eat. A few of them got together and one of them talked about the Visine thing. They did it to a new carton of milk and the guy got really sick from it. I don’t know if it could have killed him but the one who told me about it said he really regretted taking part in it.

One woman who was quite overweight used to steal our lunches out of the fridge. If there was any catering provided for a meeting or leaving drinks she would stand next to the platters and eat like a starved dog. She was the hungriest person I've ever met.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Rhonda Wow!
I had a bunk next to a lady who smuggled food from the prison kitchen . She was nice to me ☺️
Iwillwait · M
What do you mean by a food thief? Explain that to me
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Mouseinthehouse When I worked at Walmart store about a decade ago some of the cashiers would tell me that a lot of the people who used them would load up on junk food, soft drinks, and expensive frozen meals or whatever...fill their carts full and it was every month. One lady came into the store in a handicap scooter, one leg was already cut off and the other turning black, she was obese & she would buy many bags of junk food & have them hanging off the back of the scooter & in her lap when she left. Every single month.
Mouseinthehouse · 36-40, F
@cherokeepatti i had an unmarried mother of 5 neighbour once. On giro day she'd buy KFC for them all, a few bags of sweets and bottles of coke a cola. Then a carton of cigarettes. A few days later she'd send the kids out knocking on our doors asking for money and food. If we put the hose on to wash our car, within seconds you were surrounded by the 5 kids wanting to help for money. I asked her why she didnt cook for the kids and she said i should try being a mother of 5. Her home was filthy too with overgrown gardens.

@Mouseinthehouse I lived in an apartment complex and had a neighbor who was on Food stamps & got her apartment paid by housing, it was all bills paid too. By the third week of the month she was out of food, so she’d knock on our doors asking for food, and she would be specific like wanting a package of meat (she saw my deep-freezer) or tortilla chips. I gave her a package of Ramen noodles and she didn’t take them. A neighbor I was friends with told me that she got help from a food pantry too, and her church friend were giving her food etc. She was just a big moocher who pretended to be mentally handicapped. I think they caught onto her because now she is a greeter at Sams and she doesn’t talk like she is brain-damaged any more, it was a big act...

ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
