Did you ever work with a food thief? In other words, a lunch thief. [I Hate Food Thieves]

How can you be civil to someone like that? 🕵️

Oh yes I have. One ended up stealing Ex-lax brownies out of a co-workers desk drawer . She called in sick the next day saying she had a stomach virus. And that was the end of food being stolen in that office.

@cherokeepatti That seems to be a popular, and proven, remedy.

@ProfessorPlum77 we’d have whole pies and other foods taken out of that office. I would remark that it would be too bad if someone put some ex-lax cookies on their desk & they decided to eat the whole bunch. There were half of the brownies missing so she got a good dose. My coworker didn’t tell me what she did until after she retired and we went out for lunch one day. She was laughing so hard.

@cherokeepatti That is funny!

@ProfessorPlum77 A teacher got fired in the city next to mine for leaving Ex-lax cookies out in the teacher’s lounge because someone kept getting her treats. It might be a fire-able offense to use Ex-lax but prune brownies wouldn’t be, cause prunes are food. and eating a half-bag of those would probably do about the same thing as Ex-lax.

@ProfessorPlum77 I’d have probably done the prune brownie thing or else would have made fudge icing for the brownies and dosed it up with cayenne pepper. Either way they wouldn’t have wanted to steal my treats again.
