Yep

Theirs no rocket science. One has to arm themselves with knowledge of the investment vehicle say real estate study the present, future,mid term long term prospects then invest with diligence..by god's grace should be on track to meet your goals ...like all goals identify your clear cutoffs ..downsides n upsides..bad investors get greedy in upward movement n panic in downward movement..lastly when the world's sceptical be optimistic n vice versa
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@romell It's about planning, strategy and discipline.
romell · 51-55, M
@DeluxedEdition yes can't without that..no rocket science
twistedrope · 26-30, M
Yeah I guess. I work very simply.
Buy it if I need it without hesitation.
Ongoing regular costs are not to be fretted over.
If there isn't an axe at my job hanging over my head as it is now with the restructure, use term deposits.
Otherwise... Hobby money... Try not spend over 100$ a month. :/ I mostly spend 0$ a month.

@twistedrope You manage it quite well! Must be difficult sometimes if you don’t have spending money
twistedrope · 26-30, M
@kimmy159 I've found it less painful as my hobbies are mostly free. I never have spending money because I generally don't spend or call it "Money to waste". I think behaviour of consumption breeds behaviour of consumption. Since I don't indulge, I don't feel the need to indulge but that takes years you know.
What I will say is I can always spend money on what I want but I'm not looking at expensive things or even not expensive things to buy because realistically I won't use it. I think that comes from living a full life though

That’s very wise and insightful 😁 You’re right about it too 😁
Ads and companies rely on us as consumers to try and fill a void with most products, especially luxury ones. But that high from buying something nice is very temporarily and afterwards, we often feel like we didn’t need it at all.
Even though I know this, I still like buying nice things once in a while 😂 we also only live once and I save more money than I spend.
These days it’s more about trips with family though than buying things 😁
What kind of hobbies do you have? 😁

It’s really hard in this economy, but I manage to invest 65% of my income and I only personally use 10% of it. So I think I’m doing alright.

Yes. And I've often assisted others. Happy to answer questions via DMs.
Yup, I’ve spent a lot of time building my credit score above 800 by being responsible with my finances

@SpudMuffin I agree. But its not always a positive. Paticularly at the start of the process.. And when companies measure a CEO by the next P/L statement, innovation is not front of mind..😷
kimmy159 · F
@whowasthatmaskedman True enough! And when they have several businesses in several countries, it’s easy to manipulate the books in one of them ;)
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@kimmy159 Exactly. Thats where the law breaks down..😷

Oh, I just deleted my first post before I posted it. I thought your post was asking "Are you good at managing your fiancés?".

@kimmy159
...true I suppose, I guess I am living a good life but I never really thought I was doing anything different than anyone else out here. The one thing I learned very early in life and have stuck with ever since... and I mean from as far back as my initial dating days in high school, was to never formally 'break up' with a guy when feelings for him started to wane. Instead, I learned to keep him firmly within my social life but with the understanding that we were now in an 'open' friendship or relationship. "Open friendship" is to mean, he can still socialize in my social circles with me if he wants to but if I like the look of his best friend, I won't hesitate to take his friend home with me if that's what I feel like I wouldn't mind doing in the moment! If he can't deal with that, then that's all about him, not me.

@swirlie Everyone can choose for themselves what works best ^^ I could see myself living that kind of life too emotion wise, but my husband could not and so I decided to adapt for him 😁 it’s not always easy but I saw the perks in that for myself as well. I’m quite honest in how I feel and communicate that too so there’s no real struggle that he’s not aware of 😁
Yet, I have no regrets so far 😁

@kimmy159
I agree with you that we have to choose what works best for each of us and sometimes those benchmarks change as our personal needs ebb and flow through life. As long as you have good communication skills and your husband is very good at listening, then you will continue to enjoy the best of both worlds!
