wasn't very fond of skirts. would always wear black leggings if i had to wear one. most of the time i'd wear trousers in school and Jeans / three quarter length shorts while out casually.

I wore skirts quite a lot, but that didn't stop me from climbing trees or having fun. The trick is to tuck the skirt into your knickers 😉

Winter school uniform was a skirt and blouse, summer was a dress. Netball was a skirt too.

Even though I went to public school, girls had to wear skirts and dresses. It was some kind of torture in the wintertime. Then the miniskirts came into being. That was even worse because skirts came abbreviated into stores and the teachers demanded lengths that didn't exist anymore.

Finally, CPS gave in, and girls wore slacks and jeans when I was a high school sophomore. Some wore maxi skirts, which I wore as well.

Went to an all boys school but our twin all girls school, the girls had to wear skirts always, even for gym, they were allowed to wear shorts under them for modesty, field hockey uniforms for the girls had the shortest skirts.

Our school uniforms included skirts. Slacks were not allowed for girls back them. We received a special dispensation to be able to wear shorts under our skirts in order to play on the jungle gyms and climb around on the playgrounds, while preserving our “modesty”.

My parents let me wear pant or anything I wanted, mostly jeans. I rarely wore dresses or skirts growing up.

In school, yes. Slacks for girls were prohibited. On the weekends I could wear them. In order to play on the schoolyard, we were permitted to wear shorts under our uniform skirts, but it practically took an edict from the archdiocese.
