No but then again I'm such a groupie for him and went to the museum in Belgrade 🫠
saher090 · 31-35, M
@HannibalAteMeOut interresting
Ferric67 · M
@HannibalAteMeOut there is a Tesla museum not that far from where I work, I believe it's called Wardenclyffe. It was where he lived and did his experiements. At one time in my life, I literally lived around the block from there.

Pfuzylogic · M
Previously, Thomas Edison had been overhyped from ideas he stole from his employees,. Tesla never stole his ideas. People had a hard time understanding his ideas in the first place.!
No way he was an outstanding, brilliant genius...
Piper · 61-69, F
No, not at all.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
No. And. Thank God he didn't give away everything he knew. This world was just barely ready for him.
saher090 · 31-35, M
@SteelHands do u think tesla came in the wrong time?
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@saher090 Actually not at all. The natural arrival of super geniuses in this world do not arrive without perfect alignment by our one omnipotent Creator. His having been here was net positive. I don't need to know why.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@SteelHands there's some evidence that the hand of the almighty was actually involved. You see during the era he lived there were at least one or two others that were up there at the genius level so profoundly that it only makes sense if you see the timing as a kind of "tag team" arrival. More than the sum of parts. Citing examples like Heviside, Farnsworth, Deforest and in truth, probably a thousand unsung geniuses in the 20th century. That those who arrived after the 1930s merely stood on the shoulders of giants is not known by 98% of even today's most science drenched and pigmented minds.
No...he's only starting to get the recognition he deserves. A long way to go still.
saher090 · 31-35, M
@BizSuitStacy ok but some crazy stuffs were attributed to him the few last years like time travel, and earthquake generation!!
No, if anything he seems under hyped previously.
Steve42 · 56-60, M
I don't think so. They still can't duplicate a lot of stuff he did a 100 years ago. Brilliant guy.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Steve42 Possibly because he didn't actually do the stuff they now claim he did?
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Steve42
They still can't duplicate a lot of stuff he did a 100 years ago
Probably because much of the stuff people give him credit for never worked to begin with...

Magnolia21 · 22-25, F
Nah, he was a genius, but terrible at marketing.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Magnolia21 Around 1900 he got paid a couple of million in today's money by Westinghouse, not too bad a marketing move.
Ferric67 · M
He is the greatest human mind of modern times
Viper · M
Telsa the company, yes.

Tesla, the man, has been hyped recently? I think Edison gets hyped more still... Seems like if anything Telsa should of been hyped more.

Also, wonder about what Telsa thought or knew about the pyramids.

@Viper best comment material
Convivial · 26-30, F
A great man, but possibly a dreamer with some concepts
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
No. The man was a God among mortals.
revenant · F
No and virtually nobody understands how his brain worked.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Probably... I'd have to check the books on that one.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
And to clarify he was the "secret" genius for years but he's basically been deified at this point and c'mon enough now.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Very much so. He is credited with all kinds of things he never actually did, like "inventing" AC electricity. He was quite a genius. but not the demi-god he's been turned into.
Funlov · M
@ChipmunkErnie hitlers boy is what he was
Not at all, pure genius. I'm a little salty that Mr. Musk used his name for profit though since that is not what he was about, at all.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Angelwarfare In today's money Tesla sold his patents to Westinghouse for millions in cash and stock. ;)
Funlov · M
Have to look way back at his past not a good thing smart man but I’d not say a good man
Whyme · 46-50, M
The electric car guy named his company after him so there must be something there
Dino11 · M
He worked for Edison, then they went head to head, AC vs DC?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Dino11 Westinghouse bought Tesla's patents for a multiphase (?) electric engine, etc., for a couple of millions in today's money and was actually the one who went head-to-head with Edison.
Azlotto · M
Yes...I will not be buying an electric car anytime soon.
MethDozer · M
Yeah he kinda is. He was a genius and ivershadowrd by Edison and Marconi and it fiy caught up. At this stage though it's turned into dick riding a mythical caricature of the actual man.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@MethDozer Right, my point. Everyone knows he's the genius that got ignored while Edison who was a partial fraud got credit and it's basically just new mythmaking. Dude was impressive and cool but it's not like the name is unknown at this point.
MethDozer · M
@CountScrofula exactly. Like he was the only unsung genius in history.

He's just sorta become the name drop for people to virtue signal how much they just "loooove science".
