Do parents betray their children?

Have u ever felt betrayed by your parents?
SW-User
birth mom abandoned me when I was 4, so yes
chrisCA · M
When one parent refuses to leave, and take the children with them, in order to escape the other partner, who is physically, emotionally, or sexually abusive, those children have been betrayed.
@chrisCA sadly true 😞
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
My parents never betrayed me and I could never betray my kids. My husband’s parents on the other hand ...
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
They taught me the biggest lesson in life I ever learned, never trust anyone completely
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
That would have required me to ever have any trust in them to begin with.
@mysoulsays what?
mysoulsays · 36-40, M
@NoGamesTolerated I mean that was abt me
@mysoulsays It’s a hurt hard to shake.
Some do, is why many kids are displaced
@mysoulsays You cannot quantify it
mysoulsays · 36-40, M
@PrettyFlamingos I am not quantifying, but there is a difference between some and many, right?
@mysoulsays Some parents do, many kids are affected, plain English
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
I expect if their was no law things would be a lot worse, in some countries the parents sell thier kids into slavery.
chrisCA · M
@Justenjoyit You have some parents in Western developed countries who practically view their children as property due to their attitudes on the rights of children.
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
@chrisCA Maybe but the law at the end of the day is there to protect children, but what is law in one country is not in another.
mysoulsays · 36-40, M
@chrisCA this is surprising, western countries especially the developed ones are more liberal and free as i learned while travelling
I have seen few such parents
Some parents are shitty
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Again, depends on the parents.
chrisCA · M
@mysoulsays The whole belief of possession is questionable. Like I said, superstitions.

@mysoulsays
so not all parents are faithful or intent good towards their children
Exactly right, unfortunately. So it’s hard to make a generalized statement. Some parents do betray their children. Some should never have been parents.
