Things people should never say to a parent with special needs children

My co worker this week have said these things to me

Your daughter is spoiled you should make her go
He's to old for a security blanket
He shouldn't still have accidents
He's to hyper you should put him on meds
He needs to grow up and stop clinging to you
He shouldn't suck his thumb
You should make her do more things she doesn't want it will be good for her
You need to make her eat what everyone is
You need to make him calm down when he talks
You baby him

but none of them know their story our even ask me.

It kind of makes you wonder how these people raise their own children. I'm pretty sure your co-worker gets annoyed when someone gives him or her advice about being a parent. Seriously, your co-workers needs to focus on their lives instead of meddling in other people's lives.

@Barefooter25 no one likes her it's why she works from home now. But I did talk to my boss about it. He was not happy at all
One time at a company party the wife of my best friend made a comment about some friend of theirs kid that was special needs, scrunching up her nose. I lost all respect for her that day.

@JamesBugman it's sad our kids have enough struggles in their life they don't need to be judged and bullied by adults who know nothing about their story

1. How you raise your kids is your business.

2. Does your kid need to be part of your work group?
YoMomma ·
Yeah what do they know? Annoying 😳😬 you do you, it’s not their concern
Cigarguy · M
@YoMomma i know and I don't share my business but I do talk to Joel and tell him things and coworkers just over hear what I'm saying and talk about it.
YoMomma ·
@Cigarguy ah nothing wrong with being supporting and caring to your children .. people are so dense imo
Ilovelily1986 · 36-40, F
Well he isn't wrong
Cigarguy · M
@Ilovelily1986 I never said he talks over me. He doesn't he has manners, he gets excited when he's telling someone about his day and he can get a little loud. He never interrupts or cuts people off

@Cigarguy This says it all...
A woman could be super model gorgeous, but if they have a dark heart and soul, no man, or woman, would ever want to be with them.

People sure are quick to assume. Anyone that says anything like or close to your post is not fit nor worthy of a second of your time.
Cigarguy · M
@robbie2499 yeah just someday it gets to me or than others. I'm having a off week. Feeling very down and I don't know why.
robbie2499 · 61-69, F
@Cigarguy You do have a lot going on. Remember, the way you feel right now will not last forever. It's temporary.
Cigarguy · M
@robbie2499 thank you and I know it will pass. And I have our support group tonight and therapy tomorrow.
making inappropriate comments about someones kid is a good way to get ya damn feelings hurt.
I'm sorry @Cigarguy , but if someone denigrates my nieces or nephews they're going to feel pain, and lots of it.
Cigarguy · M
@NativePortlander1970 I can't lose my job but I did go to my boss. He was upset she was even in the office the last few days.

@Fertilization she works at home most of the time but was been in office this week. My oldest boy is here and I can't help but wonder if she would say some of those things to his face.

@4meAndyou worst thing was I was talking in my office with the door shut but she could still hear me. So it wasn't like I even told her about anything
4meAndyou · F
@Cigarguy Now THAT is a problem. An HR sort of problem.
My youngest niece had to be told every type of meat was chicken until she was about six or seven, or she wouldn't touch it.
@Cigarguy Addie is like that with beef, my older brother and sis in law over cook it so it's like shoe leather, the same with pork chops they're drier than the sahara and could pound in nails.
Cigarguy · M
@NativePortlander1970 that sounds hard to eat for anyone.
@Cigarguy You could use the individual meat fibers as toothpicks, my sister in law's baked chicken and rice is so tasteless, fruit stripe gum has it beat.
