That's a truly wonderful thing to read. You must be so proud of your son.
I started to panic for a minute thinking it was a bullying situation but what a blessing.
Kindness like this is what we need more of.
I don't want that child to ever feel beholden to your son but I hope he remembers and truly appreciates the kindness that your son has shown him.

@Cigarguy and I got that. I think given the responses applauding your son are the only ones you should take notice of.
Unfortunately some people like to highlight only the negative things in life, which really puts a dampener on everything.

@ninalanyon trust me I understand this more than most people. I was bullied in school and even at my old job so I get it.

@Mellowgirl yeah this is the 2nd time in the last 24 hours that people have turned a nice post into something negative. But it's what happens when you post stuff on a open forum like this. What can you do 🤷🏻♂

Your son is awesome. So the school has 2 different lunch menu's? Seems wrong that they don't provide hot lunch for everyone. They are creating a situation that singles out the poor kids .

@Cigarguy 🤔in a way it just goes to show the old adage there are nothing more cruel than kids poking fun at others about not being able to pay for a hot meal . your son on the other hand they broke the mould though not his money to spend on others that was such a kind and christian gesture he made for his mate . others should use your son as a template to how others should show compassion for others less fortunate than themselves rather than mock them over it

That’s beautiful, and it’s the sort of empathy that cannot be taught. Obviously he’s been raised seeing that type of kindness in your home. 😊

He is a super hero of a kid. I don't think I've ever heard of a child that age giving to someone in need without being prompted. What a FABULOUS little boy you have!!!

Thanks for raising your kids the right way
With what schools get for EACH student, lunches should be provided at NO COST to them. As a staunch Socialist I am disgusted that a taxpayer funded institutional systwm acts more corporatist than Socialist, which what public schools are. Admins and coaches get far too much in salaries, cut their money to teacher salary level to pay for children's meals.
