I'll do you one better, for the last year of her life I had to live WITH my mother-in-law in her house and she did not like me at all!

@Blondily she didn't like me and she knew she was dying so she had no incentive to even try to be polite...did it for my wife otherwise I might have taken her out LOL

Probably not because I would feel that's just too close and that she may interfere in the or spy on us haha, however, I did actually live in that type of situation where my mother-in-law lived right next door and she was the greatest. We were very close.

She is contributing to global warming now, along with my FIL as they have raised the flames in hell to a new level.

When she was alive, most days, I would not have minded seeing her run over by a truck. The rest of the days, I wanted to be driving the truck.

My mother-in-law actually did used to live next door to me for quite a long time and we just loved each other so much. She was the best.

Maybe. It would be easier when we help her or she helps us that it's just the next door. But it can become overwhelming if we would see her too much too. We have 15 minutes bus ride to her now and then a 10 minute walk. I think it works great so far.

@Blondily his wife is the only child and the MIL is not in good health plus I think she financed part of their build...it is kind of complicated. but yes she gives the kids candy all the time.

@Blondily it was , especially since she has several kids, and 2 which live less than a mile from them. I can't work so I'm home a lot. Therefore they took it upon themselves to designate me as there go to person if they needed anything. Saying that their kids work and they don't want to bother them. So I should help them. They died a few years ago and though I miss them I am also relieved.
