@uncalled4 Thats exactly how I'd react!🤭

Probably not because I would feel that's just too close and that she may interfere in the or spy on us haha, however, I did actually live in that type of situation where my mother-in-law lived right next door and she was the greatest. We were very close.
Blondily · F
@LadyGrace Thats a rarity but glad it worked out for you.
goliathtree · 56-60, M
She is contributing to global warming now, along with my FIL as they have raised the flames in hell to a new level.

When she was alive, most days, I would not have minded seeing her run over by a truck. The rest of the days, I wanted to be driving the truck.
Blondily · F
@goliathtree Sounds like we shared the same inlaws!!!! Thanks for the best laugh of the day!!!🤭😂🤣
My mother-in-law actually did used to live next door to me for quite a long time and we just loved each other so much. She was the best.
@Blondily Thank you dear. I wish you had a mother-in-law you could really love and enjoy. But let me wish you a very Merry Christmas, anyway. ❤🤗
Blondily · F
@LadyGrace Thank you so much! Merry Christmas 🎄
@Blondily Thank you!! ❤🤗
My mother-in-law did live next door to me and I loved it. She was more of a mother to me than my own mother and I loved her very much. She treated me good. It takes two to make things work. It was not a chore loving her at all. She did love me and she was a great Christian lady. It takes both parties to treat each other lovingly and with respect. And if there's problems then you talk them out you don't hold them in and gossip about the other person. You go to that person and work it out so you can both be happy.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I don’t have one but I would never ever live next door to one
Blondily · F
@Jenny1234 Wise decision 👌
Gangstress · 41-45, F
Yes id live next door lol
Free cakes
Blondily · F
@Gangstress Free cakes would be nice but free unsolicited advice wouldn't!
SW-User
My mother-in-law has passed away but she was a wonderful person and if our family had lived next door to her and my father-in-law it would have been sweet.
Blondily · F
@SW-User You're fortunate that she was nice to you.
SW-User
@Blondily Yep, she liked me. I'm fortunate with family in general.
done that before.

never ever ever ever again..
Blondily · F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I dont blame you! lol
NerdySoph · 26-30, F
Depends .. if she's nice and is a good cook then yeah :D
Blondily · F
@NerdySoph But it would get old fast! lol
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
Maybe. It would be easier when we help her or she helps us that it's just the next door. But it can become overwhelming if we would see her too much too. We have 15 minutes bus ride to her now and then a 10 minute walk. I think it works great so far.
Blondily · F
@Queendragonfly Its best to live far away in my opinion.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Blondily I think it depends on the relationship. I'm close to my mother in law she's like a mom to me. A sweet angel.
Blondily · F
@Queendragonfly You're very fortunate
akindheart · 61-69, F
my son's MIL has lived in the condo over them and now she built her townhouse so she can go out her back door into theirs.
Blondily · F
@akindheart That's just horrid for him to put up with. They need to move.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Blondily his wife is the only child and the MIL is not in good health plus I think she financed part of their build...it is kind of complicated. but yes she gives the kids candy all the time.
Blondily · F
@akindheart So they are stuck. Maybe she won't be around much longer.🤞🏻
bowman81 · M
Oh Hell No!
Blondily · F
@bowman81 I think thats a wise choice. lol
Raaii · 22-25, F
love her then it'll be better if she feels comfortable
I'll wish to live with her 🙇‍♀️
Raaii · 22-25, F
@Stillwaiting I'll feel the same always if parents are there
@Raaii Then you hit the jackpot
@Stillwaiting It's part of their culture.
I'll do you one better, for the last year of her life I had to live WITH my mother-in-law in her house and she did not like me at all!
Blondily · F
@istillhaveanameitsrick Omg that would suck!
Mine didnt like me either but at least I didn't have to live with her.
@Blondily she didn't like me and she knew she was dying so she had no incentive to even try to be polite...did it for my wife otherwise I might have taken her out LOL
Blondily · F
@istillhaveanameitsrick
lololololol
Hopefully you didnt have to be around her much.
Next door is probably better than same house...

And send the kids next door to see their grandma to have some alone time with the partner, if you know what I mean ;)

Hypothetically if I had all that
Blondily · F
@sstronaut That would certainly work!
melissa001 · 51-55, F
My aunt and uncle lived next to me and I didn't get a moments peace.
Blondily · F
@melissa001 That must have been hard on you.
melissa001 · 51-55, F
@Blondily it was , especially since she has several kids, and 2 which live less than a mile from them. I can't work so I'm home a lot. Therefore they took it upon themselves to designate me as there go to person if they needed anything. Saying that their kids work and they don't want to bother them. So I should help them. They died a few years ago and though I miss them I am also relieved.
Blondily · F
@melissa001 Easy to see how they used you but probably loved you too. Sorry for your loss but glad you have your freedom back.
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
Definitely not. Whether she's nice or not, it's not healthy for your family to be that close to parents.
Later in life...maybe
Blondily · F
@Midlifemale I agree 100%!!!
SW-User
She lived in a nursing home a short walk away. Just far enough that she couldn't make it to ours on her own
Blondily · F
@SW-User That would work out!
OliRos · 18-21, F
No. Marriage has many negatives for me. This would be one.
Blondily · F
@OliRos And never move in with one either!
OliRos · 18-21, F
@Blondily That is unthinkable.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
My MIL, I think I could handle it more than my spouse.
My step MIL, no we'd move.
Blondily · F
@Starcrossed Sounds reasonable!
exexec · 61-69, C
It would have been okay, but it was better having her 800 miles away.
Blondily · F
@exexec Yes especially if they were to knock on your door everyday because they are lonely or bored.
Blondily · F
@Stillwaiting Mine lived in another state so that worked for me!🙂
@Blondily We'v always been in different states, currently a 1000+ miles apart. They are retired and feel free to come for a week at a clip a couple times a year 🙄 .
Blondily · F
Im so sorry@Stillwaiting
Mine rarely visited us and I never went to see them but the hub did.
meggie · F
Not the horrible old scrounging mother-in-law I had.
Blondily · F
@meggie Mine was the same way.
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
Not only no but hell no. Those are divorce words
Blondily · F
@Applepiedom Exactly! 😂
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
She’s a great help with young children right?
Blondily · F
@therighttothink50 One would hope so if she lives that close.
InHeaven · F
Ya, why not. Always home cooked meals lol
Blondily · F
@InHeaven As long as she didnt meddle!
billybob69 · 61-69
i’d invite her to share our bed
Blondily · F
@billybob69 gross 😖
billybob69 · 61-69
@Blondily only to you, different strokes 🤷🏼‍♂️
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
The apron strings were cut....leave them that way
Blondily · F
@Midlifemale I live in another state which helped!
NotMy1stRodeo · 56-60, M
Your pic captures my MIL rather well ...
Blondily · F
@NotMy1stRodeo I think it captures everyone's 😏lol
ThickMadame · 51-55, F
No way, she passed like 40 years ago
Blondily · F
@ThickMadame Me neither, mine has been gone 8 years
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
9 people have lied in your poll 😂
Blondily · F
@Jeephikelove Well good thing Im not paying them then! lol
Babaloo64 · 41-45, M
Babaloo64 · 41-45, M
@Blondily Yes,it depends on how nice and helpful your mother in law would be
Blondily · F
@Babaloo64 True as long as she didn't meddle and take her child's side.
Babaloo64 · 41-45, M
@Blondily that's correct..
A nice mother wouldn't want to spoil her daughters married life
OldBrit · 61-69, M
No. My wife wouldn't want that either.
Blondily · F
@OldBrit Couples need alone time.
SW-User
What happened?
Blondily · F
@SW-User Nothin mine are dead.😏
Not in this lifetime!
Blondily · F
@NoGamesTolerated I with you on that!
Blondily · F
@Fairydust Same here!
Fairydust · F
@Blondily

SW-User
No thank you
Blondily · F
@SW-User My sentiments exactly!
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
Blondily · F
@Jeephikelove My feelings exactly!
Blondily · F
@NoGamesTolerated
I sure did to another state! lol
tfan123 · 46-50, M
Actually yes. She speaks Chinese dialect so I have no idea what she says, I go by her body language and she understands some English because she says thank you and ok. I love it when she visits us 👍🙂. Pretty damn good cook too.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
JC woman!! What a question to ask on Christmas day!! Not much it keeping with the season of giving. 😂

Until we moved across the Bay she practically did. But I was really lucky in that we liked each other.
Blondily · F
@bijouxbroussard Thats great you had a nice mother in law.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M

Blondily · F

MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Blondily nice
Blondily · F

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
