What was your family reunion like?

Was anyone actually happy to see each other, or were they all just checking to see whose truck had the most chrome?

Was enjoyable most of them I didnt see often plus food was great
The very last one I attended was at my parents’ house in 2020, right before the pandemic. I was so happy to see my cousins. Mom was a bit sad because the brother she was closest to had just passed away. Little did we know at the time that she would be the next of the siblings to go, and the family was getting a last chance to visit her.

She was the seventh of ten kids, and now just her three youngest brothers are left. 😞
@bijouxbroussard that’s really tough.

We haven't had one for years. When my grandparents all passed, reunions just kind of evaporated.
the only family i have left over here is my brother...rest are in europe...haven't been there in over 35 years

We haven't had a family reunion in many years, because there are so few of us left of the ORIGINAL family. BUT when we had them, it was a big deal. People had to travel to a resort, and we had events, and so on. I was a teenager when I attended MY last reunion...and as I recall there was no WAY I could remember everyone's name.

Last year I called my cousin the different name of someone on a different side of my family. Embarrassing

The latter. Whatever that means
Horrible. The last one was over half a century ago but the memories persist.
@rinkydinkydoink that’s a long time .

I knew only a few of the people personally; but since I was the family genealogist, I knew who they were. I got some good stories from them to add to the family history that I am writing.
